Chandler, AZ Author Publishes Memoir of Her Life

Face the Music & Dance, a new book by G. Raine, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

FACE THE MUSIC & DANCE IS A STIRRING ACCOUNT OF DIVORCE FOLLOWING WHAT WAS WIDELY BELIEVED TO BE AN ENDURING LOVE STORY.

THE AUTHOR CAPTURES THE LIGHT OF HER UNIQUE JOURNEY, WHILE SHE IS FACED WITH UNFORESEEN THREATS OF BETRAYAL. SINISTER ATTEMPTS BY AN INTRUDER TO DISMANTLE HER WORLD WILL UNDOUBTEDLY LEAVE THE READER STUNNED, AS IT DID FOR THOSE WHO SHARED IN HER REALITY.

WITH FAITH IN GOD AND HER PASSION FOR MUSIC AND DANCE, SHE SURVIVED TO PROVIDE AN EXTRAORDINARY EXAMPLE OF COURAGE, FORGIVENESS AND LOVE.

About the Author
G. Raine grew up on Long Island feeling a strong sense of pride not only for her family with its New York roots dating back at least four generations, but also its worthy history. So it was, on a winter day in 1966, the very day after her wedding, she left it behind. Upon landing at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport, she and her new husband began their life’s journey. Possessing an innate love of aviation herself, together they were destined to share exciting challenges, especially upon his graduation from pilot training. When his commitment to the US Air Force was later fulfilled, instead of returning home to NY, fate took them further away. San Diego became their home, as her husband resumed his flying career with a West Coast favorite, Pacific Southwest Airlines.

As a writer for their newspaper in high school and college, she hoped to continue as a journalist after graduation. Although postponing that dream for her growing family, she continued to write and was later published in a well-known New England newspaper.

Maintaining a busy life at home, she remained open to volunteer for various causes. One of her most gratifying roles was to help raise funds over a thirteen-year period for United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego. With beauty-in-a-case, representing a well-known cosmetic company, she later moved on to share a cache of life lessons encouraging women-at-risk in shelters in CA and AZ.

Acknowledging her spirit and tenacity in the face of daunting challenges following her divorce, this her first book, may prove to be one of her most notable accomplishments.

Three Winning Ways to Motivate Yourself into Losing Weight | Tony Quinn

Losing Weight Fast Losing weight takes motivation and when it comes to personal issues such as body image and weight loss, the motivating reasons can vary greatly from person to person. The only true way to succeed in losing weight is motivation.

DUBLINJuly 9, 2021PRLogKeep your eyes on the positives in any situation

If you want to stay motivated, do not dwell on the negatives. That means you should compose a list of all the things you like about yourself, both inside and out. Most of us do not think about all the good things about our bodies, so if you practice this little assignment, chances are that you are going to feel better about yourself. You need to feel positive in order to keep those motivation levels up in your weight loss plan.

It takes practice to keep your mental focus on the positives. Being down on yourself is detrimental to your success. Besides your primary objective of losing weight, focus on the other benefits of exercise and a healthy diet such as living a longer life, fewer trips to the doctor, more energy, and more self-confidence. Knowing all of the other positive aspects that are a part of your weight loss goals is important too and a great motivation lifter.

Set goals so that you have a focus on Losing Weight

Without a particular goal, you cannot get motivated enough to even try. If you are not thinking about the reasons why you are exercising and dieting, your mind will start to work against you. Write down your ultimate goal first. In addition, write down mini-goals, little milestones that you can work at to achieve one step at a time. When you have those little steps, each time you reach one, you will feel more confident and motivated. The hardest part is accepting that it may take a little longer to reach a step than it was before.

By thinking positively about yourself and how far you have already come is usually motivation enough to get you past those hurdles of self-doubt. If not, review your goals. Perhaps, they need to be re-modified based on your new circumstances. That is the beauty of setting goals … they can be re-written.

There are also a few ideas you can implement to help you keep your eyes on the ultimate prize. Talk with your family and friends and let them know your weight loss goals. Join an online support group or even one near you. Sharing your goals makes them more real and will make you feel more motivated to do good to “show” all the people supporting you that you can do it and that you are a winner.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J.July 8, 2021PRLog — Mark your calendars! HOPE Sheds Light, Inc. (HSL) and Recovery Advocates for the Shore, Inc. (RAFTS) will host their 8th Annual Celebration of HOPE Walk IN-PERSON at the Seaside Heights Boardwalk on Saturday, September 11, 2021! At the Celebration of HOPE Walk, the community can come together to learn about substance use disorder, celebrate recovery and provide hope to those affected. “Those impacted by substance use disorder typically don’t know where to turn for help,” said Pamela Capaci, CEO of HOPE Sheds Light, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating families on the disease of substance use disorder. “Our walk offers them a community of support.”

Now in its eighth year, walk participants can create teams online by visiting hopeshedslight.org/walk. “Each team is encouraged to have at least four members and to set a fundraising goal to participate in our walk challenge,” said Capaci. “The team that raises the most funds for HOPE Sheds Light will be recognized at the event and prizes will be given to the top three fundraising teams.”

Since its inception, the two-mile walk has grown each year in size and awareness. In previous

years, nearly 2,000 participants joined HOPE Sheds Light in spreading their message of recovery at the Celebration of HOPE Walk. “It is just so powerful to see our community come together to provide hope for those suffering from this epidemic,” said Capaci.

Earlier this year, to expand its services, capacity and reach even further in the state, HSL announced its partnership with RAFTS. Similar to HSL, RAFTS Inc. is a non-profit, non-clinical, peer-based recovery community organization providing support and resources to individuals and families impacted by substance use and related disorders. RAFTS is based in Monmouth County.

Together, HSL and RAFTS will offer resources at the walk for family members and friends of those dealing with addiction and substance misuse. The event will also highlight inspirational speakers, a Tree of HOPE to remember those who were lost, onsite vendors, face painting for the kids, music, a 50/50 raffle and more. “It’s a celebration of recovery,” said Capaci. “We’re always hearing about the negatives of the disease. But by bringing hope and education to the community, we support each other and those affected. We show that recovery is possible.”

Walk registration starts at 8 a.m. on September 11th on the Hiering Avenue beach in Seaside Heights. A registration fee of $10 is required to participate (includes a free t-shirt). To learn more or register, visit HOPEShedsLight.org/walk. “The message our founders wish to share with you is that help is nearby, and families can recover together,” Capaci said. “Come down and walk with us. Hope is here for you.”
