     ​The Home Affairs Department is opening 19 community halls/community centres as temporary heat shelters today (August 2).
 
     The temporary heat shelters will remain open for people to take refuge from the heat when the Very Hot Weather Warning is in force. From 10.30pm to 8am the next day, the temporary heat shelters will also provide bedding and a sleeping place for people in need. The shelters are manned by duty attendants.
 
     For further information, please call the department’s hotline before midnight on 2572 8427.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (May 8) that all facilities (including the Leisure Link Booking Office) of the Hong Kong Velodrome in Sai Kung District will be temporarily closed from May 21 to 29 to tie in with the “2023 Hong Kong International Track Cup”.

     During the closure period, members of the public may use similar facilities at Hang Hau Sports Centre, Tseung Kwan O Sports Centre, Tiu Keng Leng Sports Centre, Tsui Lam Sports Centre and Po Lam Sports Centre in the same district.

     Hongkong Post announced today (March 3) that due to the outbreak of a fire on Middle Road, services of the Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office (including iPostal Station, iPostal Kiosk and Post Office Box Lobby) will be temporarily suspended. Hongkong Post will seek to resume normal service as soon as practicable. Members of the public may visit the nearby Kowloon Central Post Office (G/F, Kowloon Government Offices, 405 Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei) for postal services.

     In addition, delivery service to the Tsim Sha Tsui area (including Tsim Sha Tsui, Austin, Hung Hom (South) and Whampoa) will be subject to delay.

     In view of the cold weather, the Home Affairs Department has opened 18 temporary shelters today (January 15) for people in need of the service.
  
     The temporary shelters will remain open during the daytime tomorrow (January 16) when the Cold Weather Warning is still in force.
 
     To ensure that cold shelter users can rest in a quiet and undisturbed environment, members of the public or agencies wishing to make donations to shelter users are requested to register with the staff of the shelter first. Donors will then be directed to place the donated items at a specified indoor location. The staff will help notify the shelter users to collect the items on their own.
 
     Anyone seeking temporary refuge or those with any questions about the donation arrangements at the cold shelters may call the department’s hotline 2572 8427 for more information.
