Draka Cable for Live Production: Easy to bend

Cologne, October 24th, 2019. The Multimedia Solutions division of the Prysmian Group has developed its SMPTE 311M hybrid camera cable further. The broadcast cables for live production are now available with two Draka BendBright-XS single mode fibres and a highly flexible jacket. These properties make the SMPTE 311M Hybrid High Flex cables even more resistant to bending, very robust and durable.

The Hybrid HD Camera Cables 2SM 9/125 + 4 x AWG20 + 2 x AWG24 according to SMPTE 311M standard are now equipped with two BendBright-XS single mode optical fibres of type G.652.D2 or G.657.A2/B2 as well as auxiliary and signal conductors. They are used for simultaneous transmission of energy, video, audio and control signals and connect the camera to the base station.

The new BendBright-XS single mode fibre features extremely low macro-bending sensitivity, tight glass geometry and ColorLock-XS coating. This makes the SMPTE 311M Hybrid High Flex cables extremely robust and resistant to bending. Optical fibre with BendBright Technology has the flexibility to be pushed, pulled, bent and handled in ways that allow easy manipulation for outside broadcast camera shooting situations, without any degradation of the transmission signal. This important feature results from the high performance and flexibility of the Prysmian Group PCVD fibre manufacturing process. This special process offers the unique advantage of protecting the integrity of light inside the fibre core, essential in critical signal transmission situations when regular fibres may experience significant leakage resulting in signal loss and dropout.

The cables are available with PUR, TPE or LSZH outer sheathing. Mobile use with permanent winding has been proofed. The connector is easy to mount in the field. The SMPTE 311M Hybrid High Flex cable is available in various flame resistance types and suitable for all new digital camera systems of well-known manufacturers.

“Designed for professional studio and live production, Draka Hybrid HD camera cables meet the broadcast industry’s needs for long-term HDTV, super slow motion, 4K and 8K broadcasts,” says Dipl.-Ing. Marc-Oliver Hentschel, Product Manager Studio Broadcast BU Multimedia Solutions of Prysmian Group. “We are pleased to provide our broadcast customers with highly flexible and powerful camera cables with an optimal cost-benefit ratio with immediate effect”.

AI PLATFORM LINDA FOREST CAN SOON PREDICT WHERE TO FIND THE RIGHT QUALITY OF TIMBER

Sawmill wood procurement company Koskitukki will be the first company in Finland to allow Linda Forest to analyze qualitative timber data. Linda Forest is an AI-powered SaaS platform developed by Collective Crunch. CollectiveCrunch and Koskitukki started collaboration in the fall of 2019.
“Koskitukki wants to be part of digitalization of the sawmill industry as well as the development of artificial intelligence and deep learning for its needs,” says Ville Parkkinen, Forest Director at Koskitukki.
Koskitukki will send CollctiveCrunch data from timber cutting and X-ray sorting. The latter is something Linda has never seen before. While timber cutting data enables Linda Forest to create predictions on timber assortment, the X-ray sorting gives it a chance to be even more specific: with it, Linda can predict timber quality on a level even beyond assortment. It can estimate, for instance, timber branchiness in a certain stand of timber.
Objective: to enrich Finnish forest data
According to Ville Parkkinen, Koskitukki’s main benefits from the partnership are improved accuracy of wood procurement and increased cost-efficiency. Linda Forest enables this, as it is more accurate than previously used tools and sources of information. It also lessens the need to visit the forest to confirm the wood quality.
CollectiveCrunch, from its part, is happy about the future collaboration because it will be the first time Linda Forest can learn from sawmill data in Finland.
“The whole point is to enrich Finland”s forest data together. The more there is information, the easier it gets for everyone to find exactly what they are looking for”, says Jarkko Lipponen, the Chief Product Officer of CollectiveCrunch.
Because Linda Forest gets more accurate the more it learns, Jarkko Lipponen hopes CollectiveCrunch will find more partners like Koskitukki who are ready to let Linda learn from their data and get accuracy and savings in turn.
“In particular, we are looking for more sawmills, large forest owners and large forest companies for partnership,” he lists.

Koskitukki Oy is a sawmill wood procurement company of the Koskisen Group. It acquires approximately two million cube meters of wood annually, primarily to cater for the material needs of the Koskisen sawmill. CollectiveCrunch is a technology startup and a leading AI provider in forestry.

Factors To Check While Buying Floral Garlands For Indian Weddings

Living happily ever after does happen in reality, too, a grand and floral wedding can be a starting point of the blissful journey of a happy and contented marital life. The planning of a big fat Indian wedding always starts with a long list like venue, food, flower decorations, and the essential wedding garland.

The floral decorations has to be grand, elite as well as matching to the wedding theme. Mostly the floral garland is supplied by the decorators or the wedding planners so that the garland matches the wedding theme.

However, one can order Indian wedding garlands online, which can be delivered directly to the venue. Flowers are very delicate, so the petals garland has to be less handled as possible.

Before making an opinion and deciding on the fresh floral garlands or rose petals garland for weddings, there are some essential factors that one must consider.

Length And Weight Of The Garland
Take into consideration what jewelry the bride is going to wear, select the length of the garland accordingly, also the garland should not weight much as it has to be worn for a long time, and that may cause neck pain. One can even go for artificial flower garland, as that might be light in the weight.

Color Combination Of The Garland According To The Wedding Theme
The heavenly wedding can be on many topics like a royal, fairy tale, or rustic or even vintage style make sure that the chosen garland matches the overall floral decorations of the wedding theme.

Show Your Outfit To The Florist And Ask For His Flower Suggestions
Matching in outfits of lehenga and dupatta would look beautiful. However, the same matching garland will be a big no. Do not hesitate to take an outfit to the florist, and he might suggest any new type of lower to go with the lehenga.

Take Extra Care During Transportation
A rose petals garland for wedding, would be adorable if appropriately transported. Flower petals are incredibly delicate, and they lose their freshness very quickly if handled for along time. Make sure that the florists deliver the petal garlands with utmost care.

Some florists can deliver jasmine flower gajra along with the garlands for the couple. The gajra’s are for the baratis and the women who are from the bride’s side. The flower of jasmine has a beautiful aroma and is very delicate in looks. As it is white in color, it will not affect the overall wedding theme but help in spreading mindblowing aroma through the venue.

A wedding is one time deal, so neither the family nor the bride and groom want any to leave any stone unturned, so if some of the above factors are followed, the wedding will surely be fantastic and an unforgettable movement with amazing choice of Flower Garland.
