L-Tron to attend and support the upcoming Florida Division of the IAI Investigators Conference

ORLANDO, Fla.Oct. 26, 2023PRLog — The L-Tron team will be attending the Florida Division of the International Association for Identification (FDIAI) Conference from October 30 – November 1, 2023. The annual conference, which will be held at the Hilton Doubletree Resort at SeaWorld, will include a variety of workshops, lectures, and networking opportunities. L-Tron’s Andy McNeill, an IAI Senior Crime Scene Analyst, is scheduled to present his lecture, “Building your Case with Limited Scene Documentation,” in the Royal 3 lecture room on Tuesday, October 31 at 1:00 PM.

Throughout the duration of the conference, L-Tron’s Andy McNeill and Julianne Pangal will be available at Booth #19 to demo the patented OSCR360 system.      The Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Mr Tse Chin-wan, will depart for Seattle, the United States (US), tomorrow (August 14) to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Ministerial Meeting (EMM).
 
     Mr Tse will attend the APEC EMM on August 15 and 16 (US time) which has “Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All” as its theme. During the two-day meeting, energy ministers and senior officials from 21 APEC member economies will have an extensive dialogue to strengthen co-operation to accelerate progress towards a clean energy transition while ensuring sustainable and inclusive economic growth in the region. The discussion will cover progress of decarbonisation for the power sectors, advancing energy resilience and energy security across the region, and setting of new energy goals for the APEC community.
 
     At the discussion session on “Power Sector Decarbonization” on August 15 (US time), Mr Tse will share with APEC member economies the strategies and work of Hong Kong on decarbonising the power sector, including developing new energy facilities, such as the offshore liquefied natural gas terminal; setting the target to cease using coal for daily electricity generation by 2035; accelerating the development of renewable energy and exploring collaboration with neighbouring regions to increase the use of zero-carbon energy.
 
     During his stay in the US, Mr Tse will have bilateral meetings with representatives from other APEC member economies to exchange views on strengthening co-operation on energy matters. In addition, Mr Tse will visit new energy facilities, including the Microsoft Thermal Energy Center.
 
     Deputy Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department Mr Raymond Poon will also attend the EMM.
 
     Mr Tse will conclude his visit and depart for Hong Kong in the morning of August 17 (US time). During his absence, the Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Miss Diane Wong, will be the Acting Secretary for Environment and Ecology.

     The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Chris Sun, will depart for Geneva, Switzerland, tomorrow evening (June 7) to attend the 111th Session of the International Labour Conference, as part of the delegation of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). He will be joined by the Commissioner for Labour, Ms May Chan, as well as employee and employer members of the Labour Advisory Board.

     While in Geneva, Mr Sun will call on the Regional Director for the International Labour Organization Office for Asia and the Pacific; government, employer and employee representatives of the PRC delegation; and the Permanent Mission of the PRC to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland. He will also visit a tertiary institution in Lausanne.

     Mr Sun will arrive in Hong Kong on June 12 afternoon. In his absence, the Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Ho Kai-ming, will be the Acting Secretary for Labour and Welfare.

     The Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Lam Sai-hung, departed for Detroit, the United States (US), today (May 14) to attend the 11th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Transportation Ministerial Meeting.
 
     During the three-day meeting (May 15-17, US time), transportation ministers and senior officials from 21 APEC member economies will discuss some of the most pressing issues in the transport sector as the Asia-Pacific region emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion issues include, among others, ways to strengthen the supply chain in the Asia-Pacific to drive economic growth and job creation, as well as the application of low and zero-emissions transportation technologies to tackle climate change.
 
     Speaking at a session on supply chain resilience on May 16 (US time), Mr Lam will share how Hong Kong’s well-connected transport network, world-class infrastructure and close communications with other economies have minimised the negative impact of the pandemic on air cargo and logistics, and in turn enabled Hong Kong International Airport to retain its position as the world’s busiest cargo airport.
 
     During his stay in the US, Mr Lam will have separate discussions with representatives from other APEC member economies to exchange views on strengthening co-operation on transport matters.
 
     Mr Lam will return to Hong Kong on Friday morning (May 19). During his absence from Hong Kong, the Under Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Liu Chun-san, will be the Acting Secretary for Transport and Logistics.
