The Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah has condoled the death of senior leader of Samajwadi Party Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav. Shri Amit Shah paid last respects to Netaji at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram and offered condolences to his son Akhilesh Yadav and his family members.

In a series of tweets, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that due to the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, a huge vacuum has been created in Uttar Pradesh and national politics.

Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav remained active in politics for decades with his unique political skills. During the Emergency, he raised his voice for the restoration of democracy. He always will be remembered as a grassroots leader of masses. His death marks the end of an era in Indian politics.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launches Special Swacchta Campaign 2.0, with a focus on Swachhata including disposal of scrap and Reducing Pendency in Government at DARPG office, Sardar Patel Bhawan, New Delhi


Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Science and Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Earth Science; MoSPMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions,Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today launched the Special Swachhta Campaign 2.0, with a focus on Swachhata including disposal of scrap and reducing Pendency in Government at DARPG office, Sardar Patel Bhawan, New Delhi.





Dr Jitendra Singh began the campaign by disposing off E-waste of DARPG, followed by inspection of office and Shredding of First File in ARC Division and presentation of Bamboo Waste Paper Basket to two Under Secretaries in DARPG. Thereafter, the Minister closed the First File in e-Office by IE&C Division and presented Category-III Certificate to the Library.


Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Special Campaign launched on “BapuJayanti” from 2nd October to 31st October, 2022 is aimed at ensuring timely and effective disposal of Public Grievances, References from Members of Parliament, State Governments, Inter-Ministerial Consultations and Parliamentary Assurances and disposal of scrap.


Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s very first speech from the Ramparts of Red Fort on 15th August 2014, wherein he announced to launch Swachh Bharat Mission from 2nd October, 2014, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the mission became a Jan-Andolan and has been dubbed as the biggest Social Reform Movement after independence. He said, it also demonstrated the intent of the government that it will address the fundamental issues facing common-man in a mission mode.


Dr Jitendra Singh said, until now more than 67,000 Sites have been identified by Ministries/ Departments of Government of India for conducting the cleanliness campaigns. Around 21 Lakh Physical Files and 3 lakh e-Files are due for Review during the said campaign. For the first time, this year the campaign will also focus on e-Files and the review of the same.


Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Special Campaign 2.0 is expected to cover over 1.5 lakh Post Offices, overseas mission/posts, Railway Stations, and other public offices in mission mode during the month-long campaign. Training of nodal officers with respect to the portal of the Special Campaign has already been conducted by DARPG.

Addressing the special Swachhata event, Dr Jitendra Singh said, as per the directions of Prime Minister Modi, the scope and mandate of Special Campaign 2.0 has been expanded and it will focus more on field/outstation offices in addition to the Ministries/ Departments and their attached/subordinate offices and Autonomous Bodies of Government of India. Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) will oversee implementation of the Special campaign 2.0.


Dr Jitendra Singh also released the Special Campaign 2.0 Guidelines Booklet and August Progress Report on the occasion, besides releasing the Circulars for Easing of Rules of Department of Pensions.


Later, Dr Jitendra Singh reviewed all different Categories of Pendency like MP references, PMO References, Cabinet References, State Government References, Public Grievances, Easing of Rules/ Processes, Files Taken Up for Review, Cleanliness Campaign Sites Taken up.


The Preparatory Phase of the Special Campaign 2.0 had commenced with the launch of the Special Campaign 2.0 portal – www.pgportal.govlin/scdpm22 by Dr.Jitendra Singh at CSOI, Chanakyapuri on 14.9.2022, which was attended by all Nodal Officers of Ministries/ Departments.


Dr Jitendra Singh recalled that during the first phase of Special Campaign launched in October, 2021, about 12 lakh sq. ft. of space was freed up in offices for productive use and Rs.62 Crore earned from disposal of scrap.


Union Secretary, DARPG, V.Srinivas said, DARPG has created Hashtag#Special Campaign 2.0 for Social Media Post. All Nodal Officers of Special Campaign were requested to use the tag in their social media posts and tag DARPG @DARPG_GOI in Twitter and @DARPGIndia in FB.

A review of the pendency of all different Categories of Pendency like MP references, PMO References, Cabinet References, State Government References, Public Grievances, Easing of Rules/ Processes, Files Taken Up for Review, Cleanliness Campaign Sites Taken up, Rules Identified for Easing etc will be taken up in all the Ministries/Departments under the charge of Dr.Jitendra Singh during the campaign period from 2nd October to 31st October, 2022.


In the same event, the Special Campaign 2.0 Guidelines Booklet and August Progress Report as presented by the Department of Administrative Reforms will be released by Dr Jitendra Singh. It was informed that the Cabinet Secretary’s DO letter to Secretaries of Government of India, DARPG’s Guidelines Note and Circular on Record Management Practices, the letter issued by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in this context were a part of the Guidelines Booklet. This August Progress report contained the work undertaken in ministries/departments in reducing pendency in the month of August 2022 as part of the earlier campaign.  Dr. Jitendra Singh will also release a number of Circulars for Easing of Rules by the Department of Pensions and Pensioner’s Welfare. Easing of Rules is a part of the Special Campaign 2.0.


The Government of India has announced Special Campaign 2.0 from 2nd October to 31st October, 2022 with a focus on Swachhata and Reducing Pendency in Government.  The Preparatory Part of the Special Campaign 2.0 had earlier commenced on September 14 with the launch of the Special Campaign 2.0 portal by Dr Jitendra Singh.

Union Health Minister inaugurates two-days long Arogya Manthan 2022 to mark 4 years of Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY and 1 year of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission


Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya today inaugurated the two days long Arogya Manthan 2022 programme in the presence of Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & IT Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr. Vinod Paul, Uttarakhand State Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and CEO National Health Authority Dr. R S Sharma. Arogya Manthan marks the completion of 4 years of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and 1 year of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).





Highlighting the PMJAY beneficiaries as the most important stakeholder in the largest global public health insurance scheme, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya stated that over 19 crore Ayushman Cards have been made in the country spanning its coverage in 33 States/UTs, and more than 24 crore ABHA numbers have also been generated. This reflects an important milestone in the digitization of health records in the country”. He further informed that the current rate of making 4.5 lakh cards per day will be increased to making 10 lakh Ayushman Cards everyday.


He said the Government’s focus is to make health services reach the person at the end of the delivery chain, enabled by technology.  Dr. Mandaviya stated that PM-JAY has been successful in bridging the gap between rich and poor in terms of accessibility of healthcare services in the country.







Addressing the gathering, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw said that with the interplay of Information Technology and Health, the vision of Honourable Prime Minister  of making healthcare accessible in the country can be achieved. He added that every village in the country will be connected through high speed optical fibre in the next few years which will ensure connectivity and continuous health access to all. Shri Vaishnaw also highlighted that the Government is making adequate legal framework towards safeguarding the data of the health beneficiaries.





Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar stated that the country is not only pioneering the adoption of technology in health services but also ensuring that it is implemented at the grass root level. She added that the Government is working holistically to ensure the best of healthcare services to its citizens. Dr. Pawar lauded the completion of 4 years of PM-JAY and 1 year of ABDM and said that it marks an important milestone in the direction of Universal Health Coverage. She said that ABDM will have multi-fold impact in digitizing the health infrastructure in the country.





NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr. V K Paul underlined the importance and need for strong healthcare systems to achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030.


CEO, NHA Dr. R S Sharma congratulated all the stakeholders at the centre and state level for being active participants in the journey towards making healthcare accessible and affordable for all. He highlighted the importance of accessibility, quality and financial protection in order to achieve the goal of Universal Health Coverage.


The Union Health Minister launched several new initiatives including Health Claims Exchange (HCX), National e-Rupi Portal and Roadmap for Digitization. The digital versions of Annual Report for NHA, Coffee Table Book and Best Practices Booklet were also unveiled. The publications can be viewed at pmjay.gov.in.


Dr. Mandaviya inaugurated the “Digital Health Expo” that saw enthusiastic participation from digital health innovators like NIC (showcasing eHospital and Aarogya Setu), C-DAC, Karnataka Government, Medical Devices start-ups from Vizag, AWS India, Google, Microsoft, Tata Medical and Diagnostics, Reliance Digital Health, Hitachi MGRM, Paytm, Bajaj Finserv Health among others from government as well as private sector.


The day 1 of Arogya Manthan saw informative sessions with representatives from international organizations/ministries like Hong Kong Hospital Authority, Commonwealth Centre for Digital Health, World Bank, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, Global Health Payment LLC, USA, Health Ministry Mexico, Ministry of Health, Thailand and Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee, Australia along with various thought leaders of healthcare and technology in India. The sessions brought about exciting discussions around roadmap for universal health coverage, promoting inter-operability in digital health, enhancing the efficiency of PMJAY, increasing the adoption of digital health, health technology assessment for evidence based PMJAY decisions and privacy and data security at the core for digital health in India.

Interacting with eminent Diaspora over Community Reception hosted for him atNew York, Dr Jitendra Singh pointed out that the pro-business reforms unleashed by Prime Minister Modi in the last eight years like reduction in compliance requirements, removal of retrospective taxation, simplification of the corporate tax rate structure, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) have improved India’s “rank in ease of doing business from 142 in 2014 to 63 in 2022, as per World Bank report.





Dr Jitendra Singh was speaking to the Indian Diaspora in New York after returning from the Joint Ministerial Plenary of Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM13) and Mission Innovation (MI-7) at the “Global Clean Energy Action Forum- 2022”, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He led a high-level Joint Indian Ministerial Delegation of Ministry of Power, New & Renewable Energy and Ministry of Science & Technology at the Energy Summit from 21st a to 23rd of September and presented India’s view on clean energy initiatives and climate actions at various Roundtables and Joint Ministerial Plenary.


Dr Jitendra Singh also invited the NRIs (Non-resident Indians) and PIOs (Persons of Indian origins) to come and explore the great Start-up boom in India, the success of which has become a global talking point. He said, with over 77,000 start-ups and 105 unicorns, our innovators, incubators, and entrepreneurs are making a mark for themselves and this may inspire and encourage you to look at opportunities in India. There is tremendous focus in the country on sunrise sectors such as 5G, artificial intelligence, drones, semiconductors, Block chain, green energy and space economy, the Minister added.







Referring to the National Education Policy 2020, Dr Jitendra Singh says, it opens myriad avenues to enhance our university-to-university links, joint academic programs, credit portability and research partnership. He said, India is now open to foreign universities setting campuses in the country and we are hopeful that US Universities will take advantage of these opportunities.


Dr Jitendra Singh said, as two democracies with shared values, open exchange of knowledge remains key to our strong partnership. Indian students in the United States of America are integral to it, and so are our ties between universities and educational institutions on both sides. We also have a large number of Indian academicians and research scholars in the USA. The Minister informed that Indian students are the second largest cohort in the US and what makes them stand out is that most of them are enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses. He said, they contribute to cross flow of knowledge, technology, research and prosperity between the two countries and honing talent in this niche area has special importance for the digital age, for powering knowledge economy and for building a greener planet.


The Minister felt happy that today, so many of the fortune 500 companies, be it Google and its parent company Alphabet, Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, Alphabet, Twitter, FedEx, NetApp and Starbucks have Indians either heading them or playing an important role in the senior management.


Dr Jitendra Singh said that Indo-US ties have emerged as the defining partnership of the 21st century and as per government data, merchandise exports from India reached a new high at US$ 417.81 billion during the financial year (FY) 2021-22, marking a surge of 43.18 percent over the US$ 291.18 billion recorded in the previous fiscal. He said, this is the first time India has achieved its ambitious target of crossing the US$ 400 billion mark in merchandise exports and this also shows that India has started to emerge as a trusted partner as global firms are looking to diversify their supply chains and reduce their dependence on China.







Dr Jitendra Singh concluded by saying that we, in India and around the world, are celebrating 75 years of India’s independence and its incredible journey as a vibrant democracy and a thriving economy.The Minister told the Indian Diaspora that they represent the aspirations of a new India, an India that is on the march towards ‘AmritKaal’, the golden age of progress and growth. It is also heartening to know that the largest India day Parade in New York City was held on August 21st, 2022 by Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) in collaboration with the Consulate. The Minister called upon them to join hands in celebrating India’s diversity, art, innovation, sporting achievements, and much more and contribute to India’s onward march as a nation.
