     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 11) that the red flag at Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach in Islands District has been lowered and the beach has been reopened.



     The beach was temporarily closed earlier on after sightings of dead fish from unidentified sources.

     A man who went missing in Cheung Sha Wan has been located.



     Wong Tin-shek, aged 79, went missing after he left a hospital on Wing Hong Street on March 11 morning. Staff of the elderly care centre made a report to Police on the same day.



     The man was located on Broadway, Cheung Sha Wan this morning (March 15). He sustained no injuries and no suspicious circumstances were detected.

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Caspar Tsui, today (July 26) congratulated Hong Kong fencer Cheung Ka-long on winning the first and historical gold medal in the Men’s Foil Individual competition of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games for Hong Kong.

     ​Mr Tsui said, “Cheung Ka-long has fully met the challenges to display his skills and maintained a high level of concentration during the competition. It is a great honour to win the medal. I hope he will reach new heights in future.”

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 18) that due to big waves, red flag has been hoisted at Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach in Islands District. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at the beach.

     Cheung Chau Sports Centre, managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), has been reopened for public use today (May 8). The sports centre was temporarily closed earlier for anti-epidemic purposes.

     Members of the public can reserve the fee-charging facilities of Cheung Chau Sports Centre via the Internet Booking Service of Leisure Link, counter bookings at venues already reopened; or via the Booking Office of the District Leisure Services Offices from 8.30am on May 10. For enquiries, please call the venue staff at 2981 5409, or visit the LCSD website (www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/index.html).
