Anheuser-Busch Sponsors Honor Flight San Antonio Visit for 20 Texas Veterans

The three-day trip to Washington, D.C., will include a visit to all major monuments honoring our nation’s veterans, as well as a reception at the Anheuser-Busch office with Members of Congress and Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth

Washington, D.C. – WEBWIRE

Anheuser-Busch today announced a $50,000 donation to Honor Flight San Antonio, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring our nation’s veterans to provide an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials built in their honor. The Honor Flight will transport 20 World War II, Korean, Vietnam veterans, including five Purple Heart recipients and one three-war veteran. The flight also includes Honor Flight staff and guardians who will help facilitate the trip. The donation to Honor Flight San Antonio will be made by the Anheuser-Busch Foundation.

During their time in Washington, D.C., the veterans will visit multiple memorials, including Arlington National Cemetery and the World War II, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials. The trip will also include a special reception at Anheuser-Busch’s Washington, D.C. office, where the veterans will meet members of the Texas Congressional delegation and Anheuser-Busch CEO, Brendan Whitworth, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Central Intelligence Agency.

“Anheuser-Busch’s partnership with the Honor Flight San Antonio is part of our commitment to serving those who serve. It is one small way we at A-B can demonstrate our deep gratitude and support for those who have bravely served our country,” said Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch. “As a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, it’s an honor to share this special moment with these heroic veterans and to continue Anheuser-Busch’s rich history of supporting our nation’s service members.

“Our veterans have sacrificed so much in the name of service to our country. Our nation’s war memorials were built to honor them, mourn the fallen and recognize the bravery of our servicemembers, past and present,” said Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-TX-23). “Thanks to the collaboration between Honor Flight San Antonio and Anheuser-Busch, our local veterans will be able to come to Washington, D.C., and see the monuments dedicated to their service. I hope this trip reminds our veterans how important their service was to our country and how indebted we are to their sacrifices.”

“Veterans have given so much in service to our nation. These fully funded programs go a long way to ensuring our veterans feel fully supported and appreciated following their service,” said Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (D-TX-29). “While we can never fully repay them for their service, the Anheuser-Busch San Antonio Honor Flight provides a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our brave veterans.”

Anheuser-Busch has a long history as a support and an employer of active-duty service members, military families, and veterans. Thousands of Anheuser-Busch employees have served in uniform, and the brewer has proudly supported the nation’s military by partnering with several national and regional veteran’s charities. Since 2011, Anheuser-Busch has raised approximately $20 million in scholarships for the Folds of Honor Foundation.

“We are deeply grateful to our nation’s veterans and honored to be able to provide them with the experience of a lifetime by visiting the monuments built in their honor. The sacrifices they made to defend our freedom will always be remembered and cherished,” said Brian Posten, Chairman of Honor Flight San Antonio. “Thank you to Anheuser-Busch and Silver Eagle Beverages, as well as to all of our volunteers and sponsors, for making this unforgettable experience possible.”

Anheuser-Busch to Produce New Brew Inspired by Ukraine’s Most Loved Beer Brand Chernigivske, With Profits Supporting Humanitarian Relief Efforts

ST. LOUIS, MO – WEBWIRE

Today Anheuser-Busch is announcing it will join AB InBev teams around the world to launch a new initiative aimed at providing humanitarian relief for those impacted by the crisis in Ukraine. Taking inspiration from beloved Ukrainian beer and A-B sister brand Chernigivske, the brewer will introduce a tribute to Chernigivske in select cities across the U.S., with its profits going to the CARE® Ukraine Crisis Fund.

Chernigivske will be produced at Anheuser-Busch’s Newark, New Jersey brewery and will be available on draught in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Houston, and Phoenix beginning in May. New Chernigivske-inspired beers will also be introduced by AB InBev affiliates in Canada and Colombia, and as previously announced in the UK and eight other markets across Europe, with profits going toward Ukrainian humanitarian relief.

As part of this global initiative, AB InBev will donate a minimum of $5 million to humanitarian aid organizations in the region, including the CARE® Ukraine Crisis Fund. CARE® is a leading non-profit that is providing essential relief services to Ukrainian refugees and others impacted by the conflict. Anheuser-Busch will also make it easy for consumers to donate directly to CARE® through a dedicated website as well as through QR codes included in on-trade materials.

This commitment builds on the company’s global efforts to date, which include providing critical assistance to its 1,800 employees and their families in Ukraine, the donation of two million cans of emergency drinking water, and partnerships with other companies and non-profits providing food, blankets, and medical supplies to Ukraine and surrounding refugee relief areas.

Chernigivske, which is part of AB InBev’s global portfolio of brands, is named after the city Chernihiv and has been brewed in Ukraine since 1988. Since its inception, the brand has celebrated Ukraine’s history, culture, and people – exactly what the company aims to do now. The crisp European-style lager, brewed domestically in the U.S., will be made in the style of Chernigivske’s original recipe.

Anheuser-Busch Delivering Nearly 400,000 Cans of Emergency Drinking Water to Support Hurricane Ida Relief Efforts

At the request of the American Red Cross, Anheuser-Busch is delivering more than seven truckloads – nearly 400,000 cans – of emergency drinking water to local communities in Mississippi and Lousiana in support of recovery efforts following Hurricane Ida.

Last week, two truckloads of emergency drinking water were mobilized to Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partners, Mitchell Beverage Gulf Coast (Gulfport, MS) and Southern Beverage Company Inc (Richland, MS) to support Red Cross relief efforts as they prepared for the expected impact of the storm.

More than five additional truckloads of emergency drinking water are being delivered to wholesaler partners, Buquet Distribution Co Inc (Houma, LA), Mockler Beverage Company Inc (Baton Rouge, LA), and Schilling Distributing Co (Lafayette, LA) who will work alongside the American Red Cross to distribute the resources to those in need.

The clean, safe drinking water was produced at Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville, GA and Fort Collins, CO breweries which periodically pause beer production throughout the year to can emergency drinking water to help communities in times of disaster.

Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross, dating back to 1906. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have provided more than 86 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises.

Last year alone, Anheuser-Busch donated more than 3 million cans to communities and volunteer fire departments across 43 states in support of ongoing relief efforts including wildfire and hurricane recovery on the West and Gulf coasts.

Most recently, Anheuser-Busch also delivered nearly 1.3 million cans of emergency drinking water to support local communities in Texas following the severe winter storm, more than 100,000 cans to support ongoing wildfire relief efforts on the West Coast, and 70,000 cans to support preparedness efforts ahead of Hurricane Henri.
