     The 2022 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony is being held at the ballroom of Government House starting from today (November 5) for three consecutive days. The Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, presented honours and awards to 148 recipients on the first day of the Ceremony.



     Among the recipients, five received the Grand Bauhinia Medal, 25 received the Gold Bauhinia Star, 19 received the Silver Bauhinia Star, one received the Medal for Bravery (Silver), 11 received the Distinguished Service Medal for the disciplined services and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), and 41 received the Bronze Bauhinia Star.



     In addition, 46 recipients received the Meritorious Service Medal for the disciplined services and the ICAC.

     The Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, presented honours and awards to 232 recipients on the second day of the 2021 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony at Government House today (November 21).
 
     Among the recipients, 80 received the Medal of Honour and 152 received the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service.

     ​The Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, today (August 20) officiated at the flag presentation ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 14th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, and presented the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) flag to the Secretary for Home Affairs and Head of the HKSAR Delegation, Mr Casper Tsui.
      
     The National Games, organised by the General Administration of Sport of China, is held every four years, and is the highest level and largest national mega sports event in China. The 14th National Games, with 35 competitions, will be held in Shaanxi between September 15 and 27.
      
    As of August 17, a total of 171 Hong Kong athletes will participate in 18 final competitions at the 14th National Games, including shooting, athletics, badminton, boxing, canoeing (sprint), cycling (road race, track and mountain bike), equestrian (jumping), fencing, golf, gymnastics (artistic gymnastics), table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball (beach volleyball), baseball/softball (baseball), karatedo, rock climbing and wushu (taolu and sanda).
      
     Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Tsui said the HKSAR has participated in this national mega sports event seven times since returning to the Motherland. Hong Kong athletes had attained remarkable achievements in the last National Games and in many international mega sports events in recent years. He said that the Government has all along been promoting sports in the community, supporting elite sports development and making Hong Kong a hub for major international sports events. Resources will be allocated to support elite athletes and sports development, including supporting the extension work of the Hong Kong Sports Institute. He wished the Delegation an outstanding achievement in the Games.
      
     Also attending the flag presentation ceremony today were the President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, and the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Delegation, Mr Timothy Fok; the Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs and Honorary Adviser of the Delegation, Mrs Cherry Tse; the Commissioner for Sports and member of the Organising Committee of the Delegation, Mr Yeung Tak-keung; the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services and the Vice Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Delegation, Mr Vincent Liu; and the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Delegation and member of the Organising Committee of the Delegation, Dr Albert Hung.
