During a long ranging conversation with Host, Cindy Witteman, Calzone highlighted the history and diverse programs offered by Inroads to Opportunities. She discussed running a non-profit organization; providing information on the dedication and passion driving the agency’s mission.

Calzone emphasized the importance of Inroads rebranding, moving away from a predefined occupational center image to showcase the multitude of opportunities available. Calzone detailed Inroads unique structure of a half day of learning paired with a half day of hands-on work experience.

When discussing her connection to the organization, Calzone said, I cant imagine being anywhere else but this place. I am so in love with these people, our mission, and how this place helps people like my kid.

The conversation extended to the importance of growing the organization where Calzone emphasized Inroads crucial need for growth and the special place it holds. She stated, I can see how the organization is starting to pivot. We have always had a lot of great relationships with the community and with friends, and families. Now we are trying to reach beyond that, and really identify ourselves, get out there and tell our story on why this is such an important institution in our community.

Since 1959, Inroads to Opportunities, formerly the Occupational Center of Union County, has provided programs and services to over 400 individuals each year with all types of disabilities and ranging in age from 16 through retirement.
