NTT Com and DENSO to Collaborate to Provide Security Operation Center for Vehicles

NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT group, and DENSO CORPORATION (DENSO), the global manufacturer of mobility components offering advanced mobility technologies, systems and products, announced today that it will collaboratively develop the Security Operation Center for Vehicles (VSOC1) to respond to the threat of increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks against vehicles.
Culminating from past efforts2, this collaboration combines the strengths of NTT Com and DENSO to establish and develop the technologies that comprise the VSOC(vehicle SOC) service and its operation systems. NTT Com provides its technological capabilities related to managed IT security, including networking, cloud computing, and ICT SOC, while DENSO leverages its unique technologies related to information security, communications, and data analysis, which it has cultivated in the areas of in-vehicle systems, vehicle cybersecurity, and connected car development. The two companies, both of which have extensive expertise in the IT and mobility fields, will work together to provide robust VSOC services that can accurately respond to evolving vehicle-related cyber-attacks.

The collaboration aims to provide key services that enable prompt incident response at car manufacturers and mobility providers. Services to be provided include:

– Vehicle monitoring and cyber-attack detection by automating the acquisition of log output from communications, connected servers, and security devices installed within vehicles
– Detection of cyber-attack trends along with the details of actual attacks against vehicles on an individual or fleet-wide basis
– Analysis of cyber-attacks and threats by expert security analysts, reporting of results and forensic information that facilitates recovery and response efforts, and real-time visualization and alerting for customers through a client portal site
– Reliable and highly-available vehicle security monitoring on a global scale, built atop of NTT Com’s proven infrastructure and operational experience

As the number of vehicles facing threats from sophisticated cyber-attacks continues to grow, it is necessary to monitor connected cars, detect and analyze attacks at an early stage, and take appropriate measures. Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to provide VSOC services and accelerate their development to contribute to the realization of a safe and secure mobility society.

NTT Com and DENSO began developing technology to detect and analyze vehicle cyber-attacks in 2017. Since 2020, the technology was further refined by simulating attack scenarios against vehicles and measuring responses to various events, including the detection of attacks and the analysis of the scope of impact using an experimental VSOC.

NTPC REL inks MoU with GACL to collaborate in Renewable Energy and synthesize Green Chemicals





NTPC RE Limited (NTPC REL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) in New Delhi today to realize green energy and green hydrogen objectives and the Government of India’s efforts toward the carbon-neutrality economy. The MoU envisages collaborating in the field of Renewable Energy, Green Methanol & Green Ammonia and mutually exploring the opportunities for the supply of 100 MW RE-RTC (Round The Clock) power and synthesizing 75 TPD Green Methanol and 35 TPD Green Ammonia for captive use for the production of various chemicals by GACL at its Vadodara and Dahej complex in Gujarat.


NTPC Limited has been at the forefront of RE capacity development and has been credited for bringing the lowest ever solar tariff in the country. NTPC REL, a 100 % subsidiary of NTPC was incorporated in Oct’2020 to take care of the RE business of NTPC. This development comes in the backdrop of NTPC announcing its green hydrogen initiatives and plans to build the country’s first pilot projects for synthesizing green methanol, setting up green hydrogen filling stations, green hydrogen blending into PNG, and green energy storage project.


This would be the first commercial-scale Green ammonia and Green methanol project in the country and would align with the vision laid out by the Prime Minister for Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Japan – NTT DOCOMO and NTT to Collaborate on 6G Experimental Trials with World-leading Mobile Technology Vendors

NTT DOCOMO, INC. (DOCOMO) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) announced today that they will collaborate with world-leading mobile technology vendors Fujitsu, NEC, and Nokia to conduct experimental trials of new mobile communications technologies for the targeted commercial launch of 6G services by around 2030.

Launching the envisioned 6G services will require verification of numerous new mobile technologies, including those needed to newly use frequencies in the millimeter and sub-terahertz (above 6 GHz) bands, in addition to bands for existing 5G services. The trials are also expected to verify AI-based wireless transmission methods. DOCOMO and NTT will jointly conduct experimental trials with the three vendors, focusing on mobile technologies using new 6G frequency bands and AI-based wireless technology among these various mobile technologies.

The new 6G system will greatly exceed the performance of 5G and simultaneously provide high-speed, large capacity, and low latency capabilities, use new high-frequency bands such as sub-terahertz bands above 100 GHz, expand communication coverage in the sky, at sea and in space, and enable both ultra-low-power consumption and low-cost communications.

The realization of 6G is one of the most important goals envisaged in the NTT group’s Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN)* project for launching all-new communication infrastructure. Aiming to realize “5G Evolution & 6G powered by IOWN,” DOCOMO and NTT are actively conducting 6G research and development combining NTT’s optical and wireless technologies with DOCOMO’s mobile technologies.

Naoki Tani, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at DOCOMO, said: “6G studies are progressing two or three years ahead of that of 5G. DENSO and USJC Collaborate on Automotive Power Semiconductors

DENSO Corporation, a leading mobility supplier, and United Semiconductor Japan Co., Ltd. (“USJC”), a subsidiary of global semiconductor foundry United Microelectronics Corporation (NYSE: UMC; TWSE: 2303)(“UMC”), today announced that the companies have agreed to collaborate on the production of power semiconductors at USJC’s 300mm fab in order to serve the growing demand in the automotive market.

An insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) line will be installed at USJC’s wafer fab, which will be the first in Japan to produce IGBTs on 300mm wafers. DENSO will contribute its system-oriented IGBT device and process technologies while USJC will provide its 300mm wafer manufacturing capabilities to bring 300mm IGBT process into mass production, scheduled to start in the first half of 2023. This collaboration is supported by the renovation and decarbonization program for indispensable semiconductors of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

As the development and adoption of electric cars accelerate amid a global effort to reduce carbon emissions, the demand for semiconductors required in the electrification of vehicles is also rapidly increasing. The O-RAN Town project refers to the initial deployment of disaggregated RAN for serving approximately 65,000 residents in Neubrandenburg, a town north of Berlin, in preparation for the operator’s future mass deployment.

In this project, NEC will provide its industry-leading 5G massive MIMO (mMIMO) radio units (RU) conforming to O-RAN Alliance fronthaul specifications, embedded with advanced beamforming technologies. The implementation of this mMIMO RU will help increase and dynamically optimize the operator’s capacity depending on the actual traffic volume.

Mavenir will provide the container-based centralized units (CU) and distributed units (DU) of the disaggregated RAN as a software.
