Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), one of the largest Engineering & Construction companies listed in India, along with its Joint Ventures (JVs) and international subsidiaries have secured new orders/notification of awards of ₹ 3,244 Crores.
The details of the aforesaid new orders are as follows:
- Orders in the Buildings & Factories (B&F) business including KPIL’s largest ever design & build contract for construction of a large-size residential buildings project in South India with a build-up area of approx. 13 million square feet from a reputed developer
- Order for design & construction of an underground metro rail project, signifying KPIL’s foray into electric mobility business with TBM tunnelling scope
- Orders in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business from overseas markets
Manish Mohnot, MD & CEO, KPIL, said, “We are delighted to announce strategic order wins across diverse businesses. Amazon miniTV, Amazon’s free video streaming service, recently premiered its coming-of-age drama series, Dehati Ladke. Ever since the series premiered, it has been receiving immense love from the audience. Based on a best-selling Hindi novel, the narrative not only evokes a sense of nostalgia for college days but also imparts valuable life lessons about embracing life to the fullest. The series follows the journey of Rajat, a simple boy from a small village, who embarks on a quest to chase his dreams in the glare of Lucknow city. This young adult series features Shine Pandey, Raghav Sharma, Tanish Neeraj, Saamya Jainn, Aasif Khan, and Kusha Kapila in pivotal roles.
Kusha Kapila, who brings the character of Chhaya to life in Dehati Ladke, recently shed light on her role in the series. She shared, “Chhaya is a liberal and progressive woman, who is an assistant professor at Rajat’s university. She finds love in Rajat’s mentor, Prashant. Chhaya has a mind of her own; she is a strong-headed yet amicable person, and people find it easy to open up to her. Besides being progressive, she is also unafraid to make mistakes in life.”
Speaking about taking up a role unlike any other she has played in the past, Kusha added, “Interestingly, my character in Dehati Ladke is unlike any other roles that I have done in the past. I have mostly essayed extremely urban characters. I’ve never really played a professor, especially somebody who quotes poets and imparts wisdom at the drop of a hat. So, that was very interesting. I like the fact that the show is a coming-of-age drama about a guy who moves out of his village to make it in a big city. Additionally, working with my co-actors was fantastic. I had a ball working with Shine and Asif. Shine and I had the most number of scenes in the series. I must admit, he’s a great scene partner, and he’s performed wonderfully in the show, too.”

Early introduction of various proteins may increase the risk of food allergies in children. Delayed introduction of common allergenic foods, such as cow’s milk, eggs, wheat, and peanuts, until after 10-12 months of age may help reduce the risk of developing these allergies. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life may further contribute to allergy prevention.
Childhood allergies can be broadly categorized into three main types:
- Food allergies
- Skin allergies
- Respiratory allergies
Food Allergies
If there is a family history of allergies, it is advisable to avoid potential allergens during the initial stages of a child’s diet. When introducing new foods, closely monitor for any signs of an allergic reaction. If a reaction occurs, identify the allergen and avoid it. Create a list of the child’s known allergies and carefully review the ingredients of packaged foods before introducing them to the child’s diet. When dining out, inform the restaurant staff of any food allergies to ensure safe meal preparation. This vigilance is especially crucial for children with severe allergies, such as anaphylaxis, as these reactions can be life-threatening.
Skin Allergies
Skin allergies are prevalent in industrial, polluted, or metropolitan areas. To minimize the risk of skin allergies, it’s crucial to avoid contact irritants and maintain skin hydration. Regular moisturizing and covering exposed skin can significantly reduce the likelihood of contact dermatitis. Additionally, children with allergic disorders should avoid using cosmetics and perfumes, as these can trigger allergic reactions.
Respiratory Allergies
Managing respiratory allergies requires a combination of proper vaccination, avoidance of irritants, and maintaining a clean living environment. Vaccinations can help protect against respiratory infections that exacerbate allergies. Avoiding irritants such as perfumes, pet dander, smoke, rugs, dust, and dust mites can significantly reduce allergy symptoms. Regular cleaning and maintaining a low-humidity environment can further minimize exposure to allergens and promote overall respiratory health.
If a child experiences an allergic reaction, it’s crucial to assess the severity promptly. The earlier an allergic reaction manifests, the higher the likelihood of it becoming more severe. Consulting a healthcare provider immediately upon experiencing the first allergic reaction is essential to determine its severity. Severe allergic reactions require treatment under medical supervision. For mild or minor reactions, consult your doctor to receive appropriate guidance and basic medications. Local skin applications and oral medications are typically used for mild allergies. However, severe allergies that necessitate emergency medical attention should be promptly addressed in a hospital setting. Never ignore the severity of an allergic reaction.

TeamLease EdTech, Indian Institute of Technology Patna and NSDC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 26th December to mark their partnership and accelerate the development of employability-focused large-scale innovative learning programs. This collaboration intends to provide the option of Work-linked Hybrid Degree Programs to every student who aspires to graduate from this premier institution of the country while improving their employer signaling value. The MOU between TeamLease EdTech, IIT Patna and NSDC will strengthen joint advocacy and support efforts to create an alternative format of higher education integrating high-quality formal education, skill development and employer connectivity.
These new sets of Work-linked Hybrid Degree Programs have five unique attributes:
- Learning by Doing – The students shall be offered the opportunity to intern with an employer to gain practical hands-on skills.
- Learning while Earning – Every interning student shall be able to earn a monthly stipend.
- Learning with Flexibility – The programs have been uniquely crafted to blend online learning, skills training, on-the-job training, and in-campus learning experiences.
- Learning with Modularity – The programs shall provide the option of credit mobility to the learners in due course of time.
- Learning with Employer Signalling – This new category of programs shall signal skill building alongside academic prudence.
The programs shall provide the opportunity to every learner in the country to acquire an IIT Degree along with an experience certificate from the employer. Currently graduating students shall also be able to enroll in these programs to earn their Dual Degrees. Every student in the country will have the ability to enroll in the program through their smartphones once they have registered, which is attributable to an integrated technology platform. The enrollment for these programs shall start in the month of January 2024.
