Two tenders awarded for second batch of Light Public Housing projects

     The Housing Bureau and the Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) announced today (March 28) that two tenders for the design and construction of the second batch of Light Public Housing (LPH) projects, i.e. Public Works Project Contract no. SS M520, Design and Construction of Light Public Housing at Lok On Pai, Siu Lam, and Public Works Project Contract no. SS M521, Design and Construction of Light Public Housing at Tuen Mun Area 54 and Sheung On Street/Sheung Ping Street, Chai Wan, have been awarded to Able – Chun Wo Joint Venture upon assessment.
 
     The first batch of LPH projects comprises four projects, located respectively at Yau Pok Road, Yuen Long, Tuen Mun Area 3A, Choi Hing Road, Ngau Tau Kok, and Olympic Avenue, Kai Tak, providing a total of around 17 000 units. The construction works of all these sites have been commenced since December 2023.
 
     The second batch of LPH projects will provide a total of around 13 000 units. Among them, the construction works of the Lok On Pai, Siu Lam, Tuen Mun Area 54, and Sheung On Street/Sheung Ping Street, Chai Wan, projects, providing a total of around 11 500 units, will commence by phases shortly. The remaining LPH projects at Hang Kwong Street, Ma On Shan, and the conversion of five vacant or to-be-vacant school premises will be tendered out in mid-2024.  
 
     In order to improve the living conditions and quality of the people living in inadequate housing as soon as possible, the ArchSD will press ahead with relevant works at full speed to achieve the target of providing about 30 000 LPH units by 2027-28.

     The Government Property Agency (GPA) is inviting tenders for a three-year tenancy of the government canteen on a portion of the first floor of Sai Wan Ho West Pier, Marine Police Harbour Division Headquarters, 42 Tai Hong Street, Sai Wan Ho, Hong Kong.

     The premises should only be used for the supply of meals, light refreshments, beverages (excluding alcoholic beverages and plastic bottled water) and other food commodities to government employees working in the Marine Police Harbour Division Headquarters and other such persons that may be authorised by the Commissioner of Police.

     The tender notice was uploaded today (March 28) to the GPA Property Portal: www.gpaproperty.gov.hk/en/index.html. Tender documents are available for collection at the Government Property Agency, 9/F, South Tower, West Kowloon Government Offices, 11 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, during the period from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Friday, except public holidays. The documents can also be downloaded from the GPA Property Portal.

     Interested tenderers who wish to attend a site inspection of the premises should make a prior appointment with the GPA by calling 3842 6775 on or before April 8.

     Tenderers must submit their tenders by placing them in the Government Logistics Department Tender Box situated on the Ground Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong, before noon on April 18. Late tenders will not be accepted.

     The Government Property Agency is inviting two separate tenders for (i) Shop No. 303 and (ii) Shop No. 304, both on the Ground Floor, Passenger Clearance Building, 33 Shun Fai Road, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port, Lantau, Hong Kong, each for a three-year tenancy subject to the provisions for renewal for a further term of two years.

     The two premises should only be used for general retail and/or services purposes excluding storage, sale or display of:

(1) dutiable goods as defined under the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance (Cap. 109), unless the premises have been issued with a warehouse licence under the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance (Cap. 109);

(2) duty-paid goods as defined under the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance (Cap. 109); and

(3) goods, merchandise or commodities that are from time to time prohibited from import into Hong Kong under the laws of Hong Kong.

     The decision of the landlord as to what constitutes goods, merchandise or commodities under (3) above shall be final, conclusive and binding on the Tenant. All references in the Form of Tenancy Agreement to the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance (Cap. 109) shall include any regulations made thereunder and any amending legislation.

     The Highways Department (HyD) today (June 9) invited tenders for Improvement Works at Tsuen Tsing Interchange (Contract No. HY/2022/18).
 
     The works are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023 and will take about 30 months to complete. The works mainly include:

     (i) construction of a traffic lane to allow exclusive left-turning traffic movement from the approach road of Tsuen Wan Road (Tuen Mun bound) to Tsing Tsuen Road (Tsing Yi bound);
 
     (ii) construction of a single-lane vehicular bridge and associated slip road at Texaco Road (westbound) to connect to an existing vehicular bridge section towards Tsing Yi not yet opened to traffic above Tsuen Tsing Interchange;
 
     (iii) construction of a single-lane slip road connecting down ramp of Tsuen Wan Road (Kowloon bound) to Texaco Road (Ma Tau Pa Road bound);
 
     (iv) widening of a section of Texaco Road (eastbound) to the north of Tsuen Tsing Interchange;
 
     (v) widening the roundabout at Tsuen Tsing Interchange and improving its junctions; and
 
     (vi) associated works including geotechnical, drainage, installation of traffic aids, public lighting and landscaping works. 

     The HyD has appointed AECOM Asia Company Limited (AECOM) as the consultant to design and supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can obtain the tender forms and other particulars from AECOM at 12/F, Tower 2, Grand Central Plaza, 138 Shatin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong.

     The invitation to tender was gazetted today. Submission of tenders will close at noon on August 4, 2023 (Friday). Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located at the lobby of the Public Entrance on the G/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong.
