    A fire broke out at a tin-sheeted structure at Ma Yau Tong Village in Tseung Kwan O at 8.37pm today (December 20) and was upgraded to No. 3 alarm at 8.56pm. The fire was surrounded at 9.15pm, put under control at 10.18pm and largely put out at 11.45pm.

 

     Firemen used two jets and mobilised four breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze.

 

     One person was injured and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

     A fire broke out at two tin-sheeted structures at Pak Sha Tsuen in Yuen Long today (December 2) at 8.04pm, and was upgraded to No. 3 alarm at 8.54pm. The fire was surrounded at 10.04pm and largely put out at 10.14pm.



     Firemen used four jets and mobilised four breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze. 



     About 50 persons were self-evacuated to places of safety. No casualties have been reported.

False alarm of negative pressure system in North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The spokesman for North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre (HKICC) made the following announcement today (July 3) concerning an isolation ward negative pressure system alarm activated incident:

     At 8pm yesterday (July 2), the negative pressure system alarm of an isolation ward located at the first floor of the HKICC Block E was activated. The HKICC immediately arranged maintenance staff to investigate, who discovered that the alarm was triggered by a malfunctioned display system. It was confirmed that the negative pressure had all along been functioning normally, while no additional infection risk was caused. A patient was transferred to another cubicle during the incident so as to facilitate service contractor to repair the display system.

     HKICC has reported the incident to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System.
