Ill remand individual in custody passes away in public medical facility

An ill 50-year-old male remand individual in custody at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre passed away in a public health center today (October 11).
The remand individual in custody experienced asthma and liver disease B. He needed constant healthcare and follow-up at a public medical facility. On September 15, he was sent out to a public health center for treatment due to physical pain. Throughout hospitalisation, his condition scrubby and he was accredited dead at 8.53 pm today.
The case has actually been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner’s Court.
The individual in custody was remanded for the offense of trafficking in a harmful drug in September 2025.
