The online No Gala Gala will be held in place of an in-person event and allows everyone to take part in fulfilling final Dreams
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Sept. 28, 2023 – PRLog — In place of its usual in-person fall event, Dream Foundation is to host The No Gala Gala, a non-event that starts on Friday, October 27th and ends on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Supporters will be invited to bid on an online auction and donate funds to help make Dreams come true for terminally-ill adults across the country and Puerto Rico.
Faced with a dramatic surge of Dream applications, Dream Foundation has opted to host the online non-event in place of its customary in-person event this year. The No Gala Gala can be enjoyed from the comfort of one’s home and 100% of funds raised from the non-event will go directly to granting Dreams.
Auction highlights include lunch in Los Angeles with legendary swimmer Diana Nyad, whose triumphant life will be explored in NYAD, a film scheduled to release October 20, 2023, starring Jodie Foster and Annette Benning, a private lesson in character design for animation with Emmy Award winning animation artist, Andy Suriano, a personalized video message from remarkable actor, producer, director and Dream Foundation Ambassador, Rob Lowe, as well as vacation packages in New York City, Maui, and St. Barths.
While the event is imaginary, the need is real. A final Dream come true brings joy, comfort and closure to someone facing the end of life and their loved ones and funds raised from the non-event will make Dreams come true over the following months.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Feb. 3, 2023 – PRLog — No longer able to leave their home in Elaine, Arkansas, because of limited mobility, Sammy and Adrea Miller, both 80, and both facing the end of life, found their days were becoming long and lonely despite friends and family visiting as often as they could.
With help from their social worker, Brittney Jones of Legacy Hospice, the husband and wife reached out to Dream Foundation, the nation’s only dream-granting organization for terminally-ill adults. Sammy and Adrea requested matching tablets so they could stay connected with distant loved ones and bring a little brightness to each day by listening to their favorite melodies and watching their beloved television shows.
Items such as the tablets requested by Sammy and Adrea that enhance the quality of life for someone facing the end of life account for two out of every three Dreams fulfilled by Dream Foundation. And they make an enormous difference.
“Sammy and Adrea know that they will have to move to a nursing home in the coming months, which means giving up a great deal,” says Dream Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Kisa Heyer. “Having their own tablets that keep them connected with loved ones that they can also use to listen to their favorite music and watch their favorite shows gives them some degree of continuity and control during a time that can be extremely stressful.”
Brittney agrees. “The tablets would greatly uplift their spirits and brighten things for them,” she says, adding. “They are very kind, friendly southern people that give you that grandparent feeling.”
Dream Foundation is providing Sammy and Adrea with their own Android 2023 Tablets along with keyboards, mouses, stylus and case covers in their favorite colors. Brittney and Darby Rose, Digital Marketing Coordinator at Legacy Hospice will present the Miller’s with their Dream tablets on Monday, February 6 at 12PM in a festive gathering, one that will celebrate the Miller’s Dream and lives. Press is invited to attend.

True Reckoning, a singer songwriter duo based in Port Townsend, WA is embarking on their summer 2022 tour of the Interior Alaska and Kenai Peninsula. “One could call ours an unconventional strategy, spending nearly three months touring a single state with less than a million people. But hey, it’s just one state, how big could it be?” Armstrong said with a shrug.
The dream folk duo have spent the spring performing at music venues in Port Townsend and across the Olympic Peninsula. Members Nathan “Tex” Armstrong and Annabel “AB” McSpadden met in the Olympic Peninsula’s grassroots singer-songwriter scene. Their music tour spans mid-June through late August 2022. The program details are as follows:
Fri, June 17 McCarthy, Alaska McCarthy Lodge
Fri-Sat, July 1-2 Delta Junction, Alaska Jammin’ at the Rapids
Fri, July 8 Fairbanks, Alaska Goldie’s
Fri, July 15 Anchorage, Alaska Van’s Dive Bar
Sat-Sun, July 16-17 Palmer, Alaska Pickers Retreat
Thurs, July 21 Homer, Alaska Kharacters
Sat, July 23 Seward, Alaska Zudy’s
Sat, July 30 Homer, Alaska Alice’s Champagne Palace
Fri-Sun, August 5-7 Ninilchik, Alaska Salmon Fest
Fri, August 19 Palmer, Alaska Alaska State Fair
“You know, it really sounded like a great idea when it was just that, an idea. But now we are actually doing this,” McSpadden said enthusiastically, “This tour is pretty absurd. I think odds are 50/50 that (our tour manager / dog) Sunny will become a bear snack. I’ll consider the tour a success if Sunny doesn’t get eaten and we keep our financial losses to a minimum.”

“In all seriousness, we are so grateful to the warm welcomes that we received while booking this tour and the support of our friends and family back home. We had a lot of help turning this delusion into a reality,” Armstrong concluded.
