The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) and the Hong Kong Tourism Board supported the discussion of an art work entitled “The Eye of Wisdom”developed by distinguished Hong Kong media artist Ellen Pau at Nuit Blanche Toronto 2025 on October 4 and 5 (Toronto time).

Adjusted from its initial variation showed at the M+ Façade in Hong Kong in 2022, the art work utilizes light as its medium and draws motivation from the Heart Sutra, a main Buddhist bible. The adjusted variation reacts to the regional historic and architectural context, incorporating AI-generated designs and light-reactive animation.

The art work was predicted onto the wall of City Hall near Toronto’s Chinatown, showing the abundant cultural history of the Chinese-Canadian neighborhood.

The Acting Director of Toronto ETO, Mr Gavin Yeung, stated: “Toronto ETO is committed to promoting Hong Kong’s status as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchanges. We will continue to facilitate cultural dialogue between Hong Kong and Canada through arts and community engagement.”

As one of the highlighted jobs of Nuit Blanche, the video forecast will stay in view till October 13 to draw interest from regional and global visitors.

Nuit Blanche is Toronto’s biggest modern art celebration, produced by the City of Toronto in partnership with the city’s arts neighborhood.”The Eye of Wisdom” was curated by Canadian artist Charlene K Lau.
