Apeejay College of Fine Arts RE- Accredited with Grade A by NAAC

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A Grade in 2002. To reassure its quality bench mark and its unique credential the institute volunteered to be re-accredited in 2009. The recommendations made by NAAC in the first accreditation were incorporated. As prerequisites for the Re-accreditation process the college website was launched and Internal Quality Assurance Cell was also set up.

The college Self Study Report (SSR) was submitted to the NAAC. The peer team members, Dr. K. Kunhikrishnan (Chairperson), Prof. H. M. Rajashekara, Dr. Kamal Mehta and Dr. M. S. Shyamasunder visited the Institution to validate the Self Study Report (SSR). The team was taken around the college by the NAAC coordinator. Parent meet, Alumni meet and NAAC-Student interactions were organized.

The NAAC was all praise for the quality standard of the Institution and the positive response and attitude of the stake holders who lauded the Institution and its contribution. The Peer team was impressed by the meeting with the management and their vision.

The institute held cultural evening showcasing the talent of Apeejay students and it has got high appreciation by the peer team. The evening was attended by the elite and significant personalities of Jalandhar and Amritsar including Mr. S. R. Ladhar (Commissioner Jalandhar), Mr. Ajit Singh Pannu (Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar), Mr. Jagbir Singh Brar (MLA), Dr. S. P. Singh (Former Vice-Chancellor, GNDU), Dr. R. S. Bawa (Former Registrar, GNDU) and Dr. B.S. Sekhon( Former Director Youth Welfare, GNDU). All of them spoke high of the Institution and its role in upliftment of the University.

Speaking on the occasion, NAAC Chairperson Dr. K. Kunhikrishnan said, “that the college has all the potential which matched the best institutions of India and the college could establish itself as an autonomous University in the focused fields viz, Fine Arts”.

Apeejay is the only Institution of Punjab volunteered to be re-accredited by NAAC. The team graded the Institution with A grade with 3.45 marks almost equivalent to the grade awarded to the esteemed Guru Nanak Dev University i.e. 3.50 marks. The grade is higher than that awarded to many Universities viz, Himachal University and Punjabi University. Apeejay has succeeded in its endeavour to soar higher and upgrade itself with each passing day.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar is one of the most prestigious and sought after colleges of North India under the aegis of Apeejay Education Society. Dr. Stya Paul as the President, and Mrs. Sushma Berlia as the Vice-President of Apeejay Education Society have steered the course of college towards unparalleled heights.
