‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir ’ for Distribution of Aids and Assistive Devices to Divyangjanand under ADIP Scheme of Govt. of India


To commemorate ‘Azadi Ka Amtrit Mahotsav’, today, on the 17th September, 2022, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India organized 72 camps across the country wherein around 35000 divyangjan were provided with various types of aids and assistive devices.  These camps were orgaised across the country aiming at to build a vision to have an inclusive society in which equal opportunities are provided for the growth and development of  Divyangjan so that they can lead a productive safe and dignified lives in the Society. These camps were organized in coordination with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, Kanpur, a CPSE under the Department, Nine National Institutes, there Composite Regional Centres, Regional Centres and Regional Chapters spread all over the country. All the 72 camps were started at the same time across the country and connected on-line through video conferencing.    Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh was  the Central Point.

On this occasion, Shri Amit Shah, Home Minister, Government of India, graced the camp organized by the National Institute for Empowerment of Intellectual Disabilities, Secunderabad, Telangana .

Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ramdas Athawale graced the camp   at AYJNISHD, Mumbai campus where aids and assistive devices were provided to 850 divyangjan.


Shri A. Narayanswamy,  Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment inaugurated the camp held at Shimoga, Karnataka where aids and assistive devices were provided to 950 beneficiaries.


Kumari Pratima Bhoumik, Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment was present in the camp held at Belonia, South Tripura. Aids and assistive devices were provided to 1585 divyangjan in the presence of the  Minister.

The camp at other places were also graced by various dignitaries viz., Minister of State of Power and Heavy Industries Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar attended the camp at Palwal, Hariyana. Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Minister of State in Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India and Member of Parliament from Jalaun Uttar Predesh participated in the camp held at Jalaun where aids and assistive devices were provided to 1174 Divyangjan and Senior Citizens. Dr. Harshvardhan, Ex-Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Science and Technology and Earth Sciences graced the camp at Central Delhi.  Shri Hans Raj Hans, Member of Parliament participated in North West Delhi camp,  Shri Satyadev Pachauri, Member of Parliament at the camp held at ALIMCO, Kanpur (HQ) Shri Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, Member of Pariament at Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, camp at CRC-Patna, Bihar  by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Member of Parliament and former Cabinet  Minister, Govt. of India, camp at Bhilwara, Rajasthan by Shri Subhas Bahediya, Member of Parliament, Bokaro, Jharkhand was attended by Shri Pashupati Nath Singh, Member of Parliament (Dhanbad) and Shri Chandra Prakash Chaudhary, Member of Pariament (Giridih) Dharamshala, Himachal Pradeh by Shri Kishan Kumar, Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament at CRC-Andaman & Nicobar camp.  MLAs of the areas and other dignitaries and concerned district authorities  were also present in all the 72 camps.

The camps were conducted successfully on all the 72 locatios with active support of local public representatives and local district administration.

 A ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir’ for distribution of aids and assistive devices to ‘Divyangjan’ under the ADIP Scheme and to Senior citizens under ‘Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana’ (RVY Scheme) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India will be organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) in association with ALIMCO and District Administration Barpeta on 8.05.2022 at 12:00 Noon at M.C College Playground in Barpeta, Assam.


A total of 14507 aids and assistive devices of different categories with value of worth Rs. 553.82 Lakhs will be distributed free of cost among pre identified 2194 Divyangjan and 1880 Senior Citizens who were assessed during assessment camps organized by ALIMCO in the various location of Barpeta, District.


Ku. Pratima Bhoumik, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment will be the chief guest of the function. Shri Abdul Khaleque, Member of Parliament (Loksabha), Barpeta (Assam) and Shri Naba (Hira) Kumar Sarania, Member of Parliament (Loksabha), Kokrajhar (Assam) will also be present as Guests of Honour in the function.

A ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir’ for distribution of aids and assistive devices to ‘Divyangjan’ under the ADIP Scheme and to Senior citizens under ‘Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana’ (RVY Scheme) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India will be organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) in association with ALIMCO and District Administration Chitradurga on 06.04.2022 at 13:30 PM in Murugharajendra Stadium, Near Challakere Bypass, Chitradurga District, Karnataka.


A total of 3624 aids and assistive devices of different categories with value of worth Rs. 143.44 Lakhs will be distributed free of cost among pre identified 1293 Divyangjan and 434 Senior Citizens during assessment camps of Chitradurga, District.


Shri A Narayanawami, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment will be the chief guest of the function. The function will be organized in the presence of Shri B.C Patil, Minister of Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka, Shri B. Sriramulu, Minister of Transport and Tribal Welfare, Government of Karnataka, Shri Thippareddy, MLA, Chitradurga and other local public representatives.    


Senior officers from ALIMCO and District Administration, Chitradurga will also be present during the function.

A ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir’ for distribution of aids and assistive devices to ‘Divyangjan’ under the ADIP Scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India will be organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) in association with ALIMCO and District Administration Niwari Stadium, Shaskiya Uchattar Madhyamik Vidyalaya No. 2, District Niwari in Madhya Pradesh.





Chief Guest of the function Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minster Dr. Virendra Kumar inaugurated the camp in which total 737 aids and assistive devices of different category of disabilities worth of Rs. 45 lakh were distributed free of cost to 409 pre identified Divyang beneficiaries of the Niwari District in Madhya Pradesh under the central government ADIP Scheme.





Addressing the gathering on the occasion Union Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister central Government has implemented various welfare schemes for developing an inclusive society and empowerment of persons with disabilities. Informing about the work done by his ministry minister said that central government is committed towards the empowerment of marginalized Divyangjan and other poor section of society.


Union Minster informed that adhering the vision of Atamanirbhar Bharat, ALIMCO a CPSU under his ministry has indigenously developed a modern cane  ‘Sugamya Cane’ for visually impaired persons, the cane launched on 14th feb, 2022 by the minister during the distribution camp held in Tikamgarh. Sugamya Cane Device is an Assistive Aids consisting of Sugamya Cane Sensor and a Normal Foldable White Cane, assists to a Visually Impaired Person intelligently in mobility and direction-finding.



Minister also informed about recently launch of ‘Swavlamban Kendra’ the new initiative of his department to provide Skill Development Trainings at District level and the repair service facility that will open new avenues for self employment for youth particularly Divyangjan. Minister announced that similar kind of Swavlamban Kendra will be established in the District of Niwari in near future.


Different type of assistive devices which are to be distributed among identified Divyangjan registered during assessment camps at Block Level includes 183 Tricycle, 60 Wheelchairs, 202 Crutches, 78 Walking Sticks, 02 Rollator, 09 Smart Phone, 26 Sugamya Cane, 08 C. P Chair, 06 MSIED Kit, 30 Hearing Aid,133 Artificial Limbs and Callipers etc.


Shri Anil Jain MLA, Niwari, Shri Ranjan Sehgal, CMD, ALIMCO, Shri Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi, Collector, District Niwari other senior officials from District Administration, Niwari and ALIMCO were also be present during the function.
