Sheriff Richard Jones Endorses Matt King for State Representative

Constitutional Carry went into effect in the State of Ohio on June 13, 2022. Celebrating this great occasion, Matt King, candidate for Ohio State Representatives, held an event at Right 2 Arm Firearms in Liberty Township with Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones.

Sheriff Jones, the head law enforcement official in the County, announced his endorsement for Matt King for State Representative. (Click here to watch announcement video)

“I’m very proud to be here and make my announcement that I am supporting Matt King for State Representative for not only this community but to go up to Columbus and drain the swamp,” said Sheriff Jones.

“Does this affect you and me? Well hell yes it does. The government tries to control everything. The lobbyists are going to put as much money as they can in the race because they’re scared of Matt King cause he’s never been in politics. Guess who’s never been in politics also Donald Trump. President Trump never got tired. And Matt King is never going to get tired. He’s not a member of the swamp. Matt King has never been in politics.”

Matt King is a businessman with experience in energy, real estate, education, aviation and drone technology. King started his career in media where he worked for the Blaze TV, producing content with Glenn Beck, Lawrence Jones (host of the Five on FOX), Dana Loesch (former NRA spokesperson) and Tomi Lahren.

He then became the head of recruitment for Butler Tech, one of the largest career technical schools in the United States where King opened an aviation program at the Middletown airport.

King now owns multiple real estate properties as well as a commercial bank building.

“I never thought I would run for public office. The government shut down many of my businesses overnight because I was not considered ‘essential’. Well, my livelihood is essential to me. Meanwhile our elected officials cashed their checks each month while thousands of businesses suffered. I’m running to protect our freedoms and our families,” said Matt King.

Sheriff Jones ended the event by saying, “We have to get someone that cares about our community and loves our country and that person is Matt King. Matt King’s going to fight for you.”

Matt King is seeking the 46th House Seat which consists of Liberty Township, Middletown, Monroe, Madison Township, Lemon Township and St. Clair Township. The Republican primary election will be on August 2.

Richard Burton in Talks About Playing Marcus Garvey

“We had Malcolm X and we had Martin Luther King Jr.,” says Burton, “but neither had the international impact generated by Marcus.”

Actor Richard Burton and writer Barry Beckham are partnering to have Richard Burton play Marcus Garvey in the film version of Beckham’s screenplay.

“Richard Burton and I agreed immediately that he would be a perfect Marcus Garvey with his great stage presence and energy,” says Beckham. “He will bring the Jamaican activist’s story to the screen in the manner that Garvey deserves.”

Beckham’s screenplay is based mostly on his 1972 play, which had its premiere at Brown University in 1972. As the first play ever created about Marcus Garvey, the Jamaican activist, it was shaped by Rights and Reason, the Ivy league’s first black theater group. No coscreener has been named.

“I’m excited about the special approach that Beckham’s script is taking. The world will finally know how Garvey became the most influential Black leader of all time. He combines raising racial pride with unique entrepreneurial efforts like laundries and restaurants, hotels, and a steamship line. Women represented more than half of his membership, and they encouraged the marketing of the country’s first black doll,” declares Burton.

“We had Malcolm X and we had Martin Luther King Jr.,” says Burton, “but neither had the international impact generated by Marcus. His United Negro Improvement Association had more than four million members from Harlem to Costa Rica.”

Burton himself has been an actor-activist. He played Shamrock, the energetic character in the acclaimed HBO series, The Wire. In 2002 He worked for Baltimore Mayor Walter O’Malley’s administration, becoming spokesman for the Baltimore Believe campaign, directed at reducing the city’s drug problem. Later he became coordinator of the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods.

Burton’s trio appears internationally as a rap troupe. In 2021, his Jasper Street group won a Grammy nomination for best remix for their song “Praying for You.”

Beckham’s novels and nonfiction have been enthusiastically reviewed by the New York Times, the Washington Post, Newsweek, and National Library Association. He has published shorter prose in Esquire, the New York Times Book Review, the Washington Post, Black Enterprise, and the Crisis. He has won a National Endowment for the Humanities award and directed the Brown University graduate writing program where he taught for 18 years. His publishing company has released more than 80 titles of prose and poetry. www.beckhamhouse.com.

Beckham is an advisory board member of the Authors Guild.

Beckham and Burton co-authored a version of Burton’s memoir, “Ali and Me, Lessons that the Champ Gave Me.” Plans for a one-man dramatic show based on the memoir is set for 2022.

Author Richard Palmquist Shares His Experience and Wisdom: ‘Have Fun with Respect’

Genre: Autobiography
Target Audience: Those who know of me from my days of operating an FM network, later an FM radio station — and my once weekly newspaper — plus general community.

About the Author
Richard Palmquist, born July 1931, earned his B.A. in 1953, from Carthage College, then-Carthage, Illinois. Married to Dolores Mae Lund that year, he went on to a three-year education in theology. The couple’s fifty-seven-year marriage brought to them the joy of three sons and two daughters plus two dozen grandchildren and about a dozen great grandchildren. Dolores died in 2014.

His career in radio began with founding Family Stations, Inc., Oakland, California in 1957. After spending seven years there, developing the structure of that ministry with then six initial radio stations, he went on to a brief career consulting with clients to help them receive FM broadcast station permits from the Federal Communications Commission. He disdains the memory of the unjustified notorious promotion by Family Radio in 2011, of erroneous “end of world” reports promoted by Harold Camping, his successor.

From 1970, until retirement in 1997, he operated and owned radio KDNO, Delano, California, developed the Handi-Directory telephone directory and the once-weekly newspaper the ENTERPRISE NEWS, based in southern Tulare County, California.

He has authored “Gramps, I’ve Got a Problem,” “Creative Confusion,” “What on Earth are you in Heaven’s Name,” “Intimacy, Gateway to Hell or to Good Health,” and “Einstein, Money and Contentment.”

For 21 years he has lived in Nipomo, California. His email address is richardpalqmuist@gmail.com and details of his work can be found at www.richardpalmquist.com
