Mr. T. Subbaraya Mudaly, Retired Civil Surgeon, writes from Chingleput, under date October 12: The following extract from “The Lancet” dated September 19, will interest the Madras public, showing as it does the high opinion held in London of the X-Ray work, done in the Madras Government Institute — “The advance which has been made in the scientific application of photography is strikingly shown at the Exhibition of the Royal Photographic Society which opened its doors on Sept 14th at 35, Russell Square, London. Though pictorial prints never fail to interest the artistic sense, it is in scientific work that photography finds its real usefulness and in the camera research had found a most powerful ally.”
