Reserve Bank Of India Reserve Bank Of India Launches Digital Currency Retail Sandbox

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday introduced a retail sandbox for its reserve bank digital currency (CBDC). Suvendu Pati, primary basic supervisor at the Reserve Bank of India, stated it will permit fintech companies to develop and evaluate services as part of the continuous pilot.

The Reserve Bank of India(RBI)on Wednesday released a retail sandbox for its reserve bank digital currency( CBDC ), enabling fintech companies to develop and evaluate services as part of the continuous pilot, Suvendu Pati, primary basic supervisor at the Reserve Bank of India, stated.

The RBI’s very first retail e-rupee pilot, its variation of a CBDC, started on December 1, 2022.

Overall CBDC users in India have to do with 7 million.
