According to him, Sonia Gandhi’s name initially appeared on the electoral rolls in 1980, 3 years before she ended up being an Indian person, when she still held Italian citizenship. At the time, the Gandhi household lived at 1, Safdarjung Road, the main house of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Till then, citizens signed up at that address were Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Maneka Gandhi.
Malviya stated the electoral rolls for the New Delhi parliamentary constituency were modified with January 1, 1980, as the certifying date, and throughout this procedure, Sonia Gandhi’s name was included at identification number 388 in ballot station 145. He described this an offense of the law needing Indian citizenship for citizen registration.
Following objections in 1982, her name was eliminated, however it came back in the 1983 modification. Malviya declared that in this upgrade, Sonia Gandhi was noted at identification number 236 in ballot station 140, with January 1, 1983, as the certifying date, despite the fact that she was approved Indian citizenship on April 30, 1983.
“In other words, Sonia Gandhi’s name got in the electoral rolls two times without fulfilling the fundamental citizenship requirement- initially in 1980 as an Italian person, and once again in 1983, months before she lawfully ended up being a resident of India,” Malviya stated.
He likewise questioned why she accepted Indian citizenship 15 years after weding Rajiv Gandhi, calling the supposed enrolment “outright electoral malpractice.”
