Marrakesh’s First Outlet in Pune Turns Orange in Honor Of 10 Years Completion of the Partnership

In a flavorful celebration of loyalty and taste, Marrakesh and Swiggy celebrated a major milestone—over 1 million orders delivered together since their partnership began in 2015, serving generations of food lovers across the city. This decade-long partnership is a testament to how Swiggy continues to invest in and celebrate the partners who power the local food culture.

Founded in 2007, Marrakesh introduced Pune to its now-iconic shawarmas, quickly becoming a household name for its bold Middle Eastern flavors and dedicated fanbase. Marrakesh grew from a humble outlet to a beloved local brand. When Swiggy launched in Pune in 2015, Marrakesh was among the first local homegrown brands to join the platform, kickstarting a decade-long collaboration rooted in trust.

To celebrate their decade-long partnership, Marrakesh’s very first outlet has undergone a vibrant makeover—co-branded in Swiggy’s signature orange. This isn’t just any branch—it’s the iconic 2007 inaugural outlet that put Marrakesh on Pune’s food map, so much so that the locality was fondly nicknamed “Marrakesh Chowk.” Now, the store is moving to the upscale Viman Nagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer, Swiggy, said, “This isn’t just a celebration of 1 million orders, it’s a reflection of how strong local partnerships can evolve with the right digital enablers. Today, this partnership stands as a blueprint for how hyperlocal brands can scale, diversify, and deepen customer relationships in the digital age, with Swiggy as an enabling force.

“Marrakesh has always believed in strong local connections to deliver the best food to its customers. Teaming up with Swiggy early on helped us bring our food to more people across Pune—and this milestone is a celebration of every loyal customer who made it possible,” said Gaurav Gite, Co-Founder, Marrakesh.

The Swiggy-themed Marrakesh outlet is now open to the public and promises the same flavors Punekars know and love—wrapped in a fresh, celebratory look.
