Samvaad Foundation and Samvaad Institute of speech and hearing, Bangalore, Distributes 348 Free Hearing Aids to the Needy in Bangalore, Karnataka

In a remarkable initiative aimed at empowering the underprivileged with better hearing and communication, Samvaad Foundation, in collaboration with ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India), successfully organized a Free Hearing Aid Distribution Ceremony today at the Samvaad Foundation office premises.

A total of 348   hearing aids were distributed free of cost to beneficiaries across Bangalore and various parts of Karnataka. The recipients, ranging from children as young as 10 years to senior citizens as old as 80 years, included individuals who had long struggled with hearing loss due to lack of access and affordability.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries. Sri. Jayaraman, District Adviser for Disease Prevention and Treatment, Rotary International, was the Chief Guest. Sri. Shivakumar, Deputy Manager – Marketing, ALIMCO, served as the Guest of Honour, and Smt. Radhika Poovayya, Managing Trustee of Samvaad Foundation and Founder-Director of Samvaad Institute of Speech and Hearing, led the proceedings.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri. Jayaraman lauded the initiative, stating, “Access to hearing aids is not a privilege but a basic right. Samvaad Foundation’s work in this domain is life-changing for many families.” Sri. Shivakumar highlighted ALIMCO’s commitment to inclusive assistive technology and praised the Foundation’s dedication to social impact.

In her address, Smt. Radhika Poovayya said, “At Samvaad, we believe communication is the bridge to dignity and opportunity. This initiative reaffirms our mission to ensure no one is left behind due to hearing impairment.”
The event was marked by gratitude, hope, and emotional moments as several recipients experienced sound clearly for the first time in years. This effort reinforces Samvaad Foundation’s continued commitment to hearing health, inclusion, and community empowerment.
