Polycom Drives to Extend Its Market Leadership in India and SAARC

Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the global leader in telepresence, video and voice communications solutions, today announced the appointment of Mr. Neeraj Gill (MBA, B.Eng.) as Managing Director – India and SAARC, effective immediately. Mr. Gill will be responsible for guiding Polycom’s business strategy in these territories, and for extending its share of key markets – particularly in the fast-growing video conferencing market, where Polycom is the dominant player locally with a share of more than 50 per cent1.

Mr. Gill has over 20 years of management experience in the India ICT market, and has worked with a number of high-profile companies, including Intel and AT&T. He has also worked across multiple geographies in Asia, the United States and United Kingdom. Immediately prior to joining Polycom, Mr. Gill was Managing Director of JDSU India for two years. Mr. Gill is married, with one daughter.

Commenting on Mr. Gill’s appointment, Mr. Hansjoerg Wagner, Vice President and Managing Director of Polycom Asia Pacific, said: “India is a critical market for Polycom globally, so it was a business imperative that we brought on board the right high-performance leader. I am confident Neeraj will play a key role in driving future revenue and competitive gains for Polycom in the fast-growing India and SAARC markets – particularly the immersive telepresence business, which is one of Polycom’s largest globally.”
