Provision of basic facilities top priority: Gilani
Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said the government is working on an extensive agenda for provision of basic facilities to the people in their localities. He was talking to delegations which came from Multan and other parts of the country here at the Prime Minister House on Thursday.
The Prime Minister intently listened to the issues raised by the participants and gave immediate orders on their applications.
Provision of schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, gas, electricity, drinking water and parks is the top priority of the government, he said adding all possible funds will be made available for development activities.
He said the government is working on developing alternative sources of energy. Solar energy will be provided to those areas where electricity is not available.
More than a million kilometres of gas pipeline has been laid down and gas is being supplied to the people in the shortest possible time, he added.
The Prime Minister said party workers should promote democratic values and help resolve problems facing the people.
Gilani said Sher Shah dry port near Multan will create jobs for the local people.
He ordered inquiry into the alleged fake sale of forms for plots in Multan.
