Stromasys S A, a Geneva, Switzerland based software company specializing in Cross Platform Virtualization solutions, today announced their entry into the Indian Market with the appointment of its Chief Representative for their India Operations as part of its Subsidiary, Stromasys Asia Pacific Ltd. It will serve as a foothold for Stromasys SA’s sales and operations in the fast-growing Asia Pacific market, targeting enterprises that are running VAX and Alpha systems. These hardware systems were developed in the 1980’s, and had unprecedented performance, as well as an advance operating system, OpenVMS, that is far superior to today’s operating systems.
“The market for Cross-Platform Virtualization solutions in the Asia-Pacific region is experiencing phenomenal growth,” said Dr. Robert Boers, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Stromasys SA. “Having a more direct country specific presence in the region will allow us to serve customers better and achieve further business growth. Our leading-edge solutions give our clients a seamless binary-migration from aging VAX or Alpha hardware platforms to newer, faster and more energy efficient industry standard servers, while preserving the client’s legacy application investments across hardware generation; all this, without major changes or costly software migration and delay to the client’s business productivity”, he added.
Venkat Sundaram will be responsible for managing the overall business and operations in India. He joins Stromasys with over 30 years of IT industry experience and a successful track record in Sales, Customer Services, Networks, Software and IT Infrastructure Program Management in India, USA and Malaysia.
“The appointment of Country-specific representatives in the Asia-Pacific Region, with only 5% of End -of-Life VAX and Alpha systems’ users in this region having adopted the solution, we believe there is plenty of potential for Stromasys to grow. We will exploit the technical expertise of the total region to consolidate our growth”, said Tony Leung, President of the APAC Region.
On the occasion Venkat Sundaram said “Cross Platform Virtualization solutions have ample market potential since there are many companies, Government of India Agencies, Public Sectors throughout India still running mission critical applications on older VAX and Alpha Systems where the underlying hardware is now End-of-Life (EOL) and simply needs to be replaced”
He further added “With our unique solutions, these companies can now alleviate the problems of hardware obsolescence and greatly reduce their service, maintenance and operational cost of these aging systems, while directly benefiting from the performance gains of newer and faster processors, memory, storage servers and networks that come automatically with the new industry standards platforms”.
