Ian and Anton is a work of historical fiction that takes place in 2004, during the peak of the Sub-Saharan HIV/AIDS epidemic. The story follows Pastor Anton Nkosi and Ian Roberts, an African preacher and an American entrepreneur seeking a comprehensive solution to the epidemic. Soon, they entered a symbiotic relationship, teaching all involved in the post-Apartheid environment the meaning of love, respect, and, for Ian Roberts, a practical understanding of his religion and a deepened faith in God.

Robert Beckstedt sets the main character on a path influenced by the catastrophic events of September 11, 2001. Through the characters experiences, the author explores the ancient debate regarding predeterminism and free will. The events of the book leave the reader questioning whether the characters life experiences were genuinely random or predetermined.

Robert Beckstedts Ian and Anton is a compelling story of love, faith, and humanity. It will captivate the hearts of its readers as it offers them a story worth telling with a spark of cultural education. Get a copy on Amazon. “The Lady in the Castle,” by Robert Tecklenburg, Now Available from Histria Books

Histria Books is pleased to announce the release of The Lady in the Castle by Robert Tecklenburg. This riveting historical fiction is published by Addison & Highsmith Publishers, an imprint of Histria Books dedicated to outstanding original works of fiction.

As a fast-paced historical drama of a young Austrian aristocrat’s struggle against tyranny, war, and social upheaval, a survivor and lady emerge strong, but filled with a deep sense of purpose and commitment to honoring the defenders of the Battle of Castle Itter.

The year is 1945, and the Gestapo sentences Maria Von Eickler to death at Dachau concentration camp for treason. Her husband, Josef, marched off to war immediately following their wedding night, and serves in the Wehrmacht fighting on the Western Front. Her plight is unknown to him. Kurt, an SS Officer but childhood friend, rescues her from certain death to serve high-ranking French politicians and soldiers imprisoned by Hitler in Castle Itter in the Austrian Tyrol.

Robert Tecklenburg writes historical fiction, but calls Ernest Hemingway, Curt Vonnegut, and Viktor Frankl important influences on his life and writing. Like Tecklenburg, their war experiences shaped their lives and their work. His own combat experiences and long years of work as a trauma therapist for other combat veterans in many ways defined his writing. He is the author of Chasing Pancho Villa, Prague: Darkness Descending, and Cold War. Born in Iowa, he now lives in Virginia.

The Lady in the Castle, 240 pp., ISBN 978-1-59211-316-3, is available at HistriaBooks.com and from all major book retailers. It is also available as an eBook. Robert James Karpie is an American who identifies as a Patriot, an Author, and a U.S. Marine. He strongly believes in the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence. He feels deeply grateful to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nations freedom. Having extensively studied the Revolutionary War and its underlying causes, Karpie is dismayed that the reasons behind the forefathers decision to engage in the war are often omitted from education.

Upon enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1973, he solemnly swore to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against All Enemies, Foreign, and Domestic. This oath holds significant weight for him and he remains committed to honoring it. Karpie is resolute in his dedication to awakening his fellow American Patriots. He refuses to passively observe as Congress or Executive Branches pass unconstitutional laws intended to disarm citizens or suppress their freedom of speech.

To him, it is unacceptable for any particular group to claim an inherent right to dominate the conversation over others. He firmly stands against any attempts to curtail the fundamental freedoms enshrined in the Constitution, including Freedom of Speech.

Authors Biography

The poems in this book came to Robert D. Grappel as gifts, and he is passing them on to you as his gift. As he has said in his previous two books, he finds it almost impossible to just sit down and write a poem or a song and he greatly admires those who have this talent. His poems seem to grow organically and just appear when they are ready and he is receptive.

He first started to write poetry while in college, in addition to obtaining graduate degrees in Physics and Computer Science. Attending school in the late 60s, he naturally became a self-taught folk singer a hobby that he pursues avidly to this day. His career involved designing radar and communications systems for air-traffic control combining his scientific bent with his life-long fascination with aviation.

Finally, he would like to thank all those who provided the inspiration for these poems. They appeared almost fully formed in his consciousness he had only to write them down before they could vanish into the void where beauty is born. He has done some editing and smoothing of the rough edges, wrapping these gifts in shiny paper and tying them with a silken bow. He hopes that you enjoy them.

Author Robert McCammon’s New Book, “Walter Johnson Had No Idea,” is a Stirring History of the Author’s Family and Their Love of Baseball That Binds Generations Together

Robert McCammon, a retired teacher and coach, having spent forty-one years in public education in Indiana, has completed his new book, “Walter Johnson Had No Idea: A Life with Baseball”: a genuinely captivating story that follows generations of a family tied together by their enduring love and appreciation of America’s favorite pastime.

“A dirt farmer in Southern Indiana in the year 1924, chose to name his son after a famous baseball player who would someday enter the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown,” writes McCammon. “Little did anyone know at the time, including that famous player, just how much that decision would mean to that son and the generations to follow. That was the beginning of a love affair with baseball that would identify this family, a love that would begin with the Washington Senators and move on to Minnesota in 1961. Now five generations in, this family allegiance is still very much alive today.

“This is a story of the son of that son with the famous name and his love of baseball that was handed down to him. He in turn has passed that love on to his son, who now has a daughter who will hopefully understand this love of the game. Memories are made with the game of baseball, and so many are worth sharing.

“As the pages of this book are turned, the reader will begin to recognize many of these memories and hopefully be reminded of memories that are part of their lives. Hopefully, the reader will have a better understanding of how generations of a family can be connected by the threads of a baseball.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Robert McCammon’s new book is a beautiful memoir that explores the connection that a family shares over the years that began generations ago with the love of a simple game.

Readers can purchase “Walter Johnson Had No Idea: A Life with Baseball” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
