Lifesaving services at gazetted beaches during swimming season

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (March 28) that lifesaving services will be provided at 22 gazetted beaches from April 1. Please refer to the Annex for details of the beaches concerned. 

     During the swimming season (from April to October), lifesaving services will be provided daily at the above gazetted beaches from 9am to 6pm. The services will be extended from 8am to 7pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays during the peak period from June to August. 

     The LCSD reminds members of the public not to swim at the beaches without lifesaving services to avoid accidents.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (October 31) that due to an insufficient number of lifeguards on duty, the lifesaving services at Cafeteria New Beach in Tuen Mun District are suspended until further notice.



     First aid service will be maintained at the beach.

Here is an item of interest to swimmers.



     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 3) that the lifesaving services at Hap Mun Bay Beach and Trio Beach in Sai Kung District were resumed at 3:30pm today. The lifesaving services at the two beaches were suspended earlier on as lifeguards were unable to go to the beaches by ferries due to rough sea condition.



     However, due to big waves, the red flag at the two beaches remain hoisted. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beach.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 1) that as lifeguards are unable to go to Hap Mun Bay Beach and Trio Beach in Sai Kung District by ferries due to inclement weather, lifesaving services at these beaches have been suspended until further notice. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at these beaches until further notice.
