First Ori’Zaba’s Franchise to Open in Texas with Help of FBA Broker

1888PressRelease – Seasoned entrepreneur to open Ori’Zaba’s location in Houston.

HOUSTON – Since its inception in 2001, Ori’Zaba’s has been serving scratch Mexican food made daily with the freshest ingredients to diners at multiple locations around the Las Vegas area. Now, the chain is expanding out of state for the first time with the opening of a franchise location in Houston.

The new site, slated to open in mid-2021 in the Houston market, will be owned and operated by seasoned franchisee Serge Ukawilu. Ukawilu was born and raised in Gabon, Africa and moved to the US over 20 years ago. He now lives with his family in Houston, where he owns multiple hospice and personal care businesses. Previously, he owned and operated a successful sports bar in downtown Dallas.

“With his background in business ownership and commitment to the local community, Serge is the perfect fit for Ori’Zaba’s and for leading our growth in this new market,” said Ori’Zaba’s President and Franchise Director Lee Cartledge. “We look forward to working with Serge to bring our award-winning food to area diners and develop the Ori’Zaba’s brand in Texas.”

Certified Franchise Broker David Haupt, who is with the Franchise Brokers Association (FBA), helped identify Ori’Zaba’s as an ideal fit for Ukawilu and his business goals.

“After exploring various franchises to find the perfect fit for Serge, it was clear that Ori’Zaba’s was the ideal opportunity and excellent match. Ori’Zaba’s has all the ingredients for him to be successful as an owner and operator,” explained Haupt.

Among the advantages Ori’Zaba’s offers franchisees to help them thrive is:
• A brand with longevity and mature business practices
• Authentic recipes and differentiated menu items that drive repeat customers
• Optimized financial, marketing and labor processes
• Vendor partnerships that provide the best product costs, sourcing and quality
• Delivery, online ordering and catering for additional revenue channels
• Comprehensive training, including Ori’Zaba’s University

“I have been an entrepreneur for years and was looking for another great investment opportunity,” added Ukawilu. “With the combination of a great product and deep support from the corporate team that will set me up for success, I really see the potential of the Ori’Zaba’s business at this Houston location and potentially other sites across Texas.”

Joe’s Gourmet, Featured Walmart Supplier, Launches Franchise Opportunity

Joe’s Gourmet, a fish-fry product and restaurant that can be found inside Walmart stores around the country, has officially launched its restaurant franchise opportunity this year.

The Joe’s Gourmet brand is no stranger to success having been featured as a supplier in the national Walmart campaign Made in America and starring on Shark Tank on which they struck a $150K deal with Daymond John. Good Morning America, QVC, and other major networks have featured the Joe’s Gourmet products as well. Now they want to leverage all of that national exposure and brand recognition and allow their franchise restaurant to benefit from it.

The company is launching the franchise from a very high point. According to Maranda Dowell, Co-Owner of Joe’s Gourmet “We got this far because of the taste in the product. This is an incredible opportunity for franchisees to leverage these platforms and start strong,” said Dowell. The Joe’s Gourmet product is made of a unique herb-spice blend and doesn’t absorb oil.

The entire Joe’s Gourmet restaurant concept is simple and designed for efficiency in the hands of any adequately trained individual. “Our operations and our menu are very, very simple. This is a streamlined operation, built for speed,” asserted Dowell. “Our menu is small, but we do every item extremely well. People can depend on what they are getting, no matter the location.”

The franchise expansion aims to go national, Joe’s Gourmet will start in Georgia. “Ideally we want to expand near our headquarters first in order to offer the best hands-on support. We want to be there for our franchisees from the start,” stated Dowell. The company is set on a high standard of support throughout the franchise partnership. “We’ll begin with training at our facility in Lithia Springs and then we will come to their stores for further education. The Joe’s Gourmet field consultants will help franchisees navigate their obstacles and save them time by troubleshooting. We will also leverage our relationship with Walmart to offer high traffic non-traditional retail locations inside their stores,” said Dowell. S One of the benefits is an advantageous lease with a low rate that includes all utilities, a steady captive audience, and strong community presence. She adds that they will consider franchisees located anywhere in the U.S. who have adequate experience to back them.

The Joe’s Gourmet franchise fee has been lowered for the first year. “We’ve lowered the franchise fee to $35K for a limited time. People should really take advantage of this because we know we’ve got all the pieces in place to be a nationally recognized brand,” points out Dowell. “Now is the time to get on board with us.”

The company currently has products placed in over 800 Walmart stores nationally, and over 3000 with other store brands, and they’re running two national commercials. Their headquarters can be found at 1100 Thornton Road in Lithia Springs, GA.

LAS VEGAS – While school may look different this year for a lot of families and students, popular Mexican fast-casual chain Ori’Zaba’s is making it easy to feed families delicious snacks and meals on the go or at home. The restaurant locations are featuring several specials to fit diners’ busy lifestyles during the school year, including:

• Kids’ Meals: With classes, sports and activities resuming, Ori’Zaba’s is making it simple to get kids fed quickly and inexpensively with kids’ meals that all include a small side of chips and a kid’s drink. Franchisees receive additional traffic on Sundays with the Kids Eat Free promotion.
• Family-Style Packages: To make life a little less stressful during the school week, Ori’Zaba’s offers family packages for a cook-free meal. Customers can pick up, grab and go or get their meal delivered.
• Full-Service Catering: Whether customers are hosting a learning pod or even just family, for the ultimate in convenience for groups, Ori’Zaba’s full-service catering takes care of all the details, including set up and cleaning.
• Free Drinks for Students: With any entrée purchase, students just have to show their school ID to receive a free drink. Rehydration selections include favorites like artisanal agua fresca and fountain drinks.

“We know back-to-school stress is real and even more likely this year, so we want to offer one way to help families have a smooth return to learning,” said President and Franchise Director Lee Cartledge. “By making scratch-food and drinks accessible and affordable for lunches, after-school snacks or busy weeknights, we hope to help reduce some of the anxiety that comes with the start of the year by giving families the time they need to balance school, work and home.”

Moreover, since, according to the CDC, healthy students are better learners, Ori’Zaba’s menu features a variety of nutritious foods that promote students’ health and wellbeing. From fresh and pure ingredients to meat- and guilt-free options like gluten-free, vegetarian and plant-based options, the menu reflects Ori’Zaba’s continued commitment to high quality.

Director of Consumer Product Management D.J. Wonnacott-Yahnke added, “In fact, during peak pandemic months, we were able to partner with local school districts to bridge gaps in school lunch programs.”

Finding creative ways to appeal to new and loyal diners alike is just one way Ori’Zaba’s sets itself apart as an ideal franchise partner with the ingredients for success.
