Authors Jaime R. Carlo-Casellas, Ph.D. and Philip Drucker, Esq., Ret.’s New Book, “Race Does Not Exist,” Explores How Race is But a Social Construct Used to Divide Humans

Jaime R. Carlo-Casellas, Ph.D. and Philip Drucker, Esq., Ret. have completed their new book, “Race Does Not Exist: We all Descend from the Same Maternal Lineage”: a powerful exploration of the ways in which different groups of humans are more closely linked then they might think, despite the pervasive threat of xenophobia and White supremacy allowing people to think otherwise.

“This book is intended to describe the development of the humanoid since the beginning of time and the absurdism of how this group of animals that descended from a dark African ape became ultra-cooperative, both cognitively and motivationally,” writes Carlo-Casellas and Drucker.

“A tiny genetic mutation that led to the development of white skin occurred on a dark-skinned African Homo sapiens as early as tens of thousands of years ago illuminates one of humanity’s most significant sources of strife. It reminds us that we must remember that skin color is only part of what race is and is not. Yet despite being such an ultra-cooperative species, the juggernauts of White supremacy, androcentrism, disparity, misogyny, homo-aversion, colonialism, persecution of those who are different, suppression of voting rights, as well as a passion for weapons, and killing each other, have been baked into the genome of many members of our species since the dawn of history. Most xenophobes tend to think they are less xenophobic than the average person. But clearly, intolerance of Black Americans, more than one hundred fifty years after the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the United States, proves that the legacy of slavery continues to have an impact on the position of Blacks in American society today. This includes ethnophobia in the US military.”

Carlo-Casellas and Drucker continue, “The genetic diversity that exists across the entire human race is trivial, and race is not an encompassing representation of the diversity that exists among humans. ‘Race’ is a human-invented classification system. What we have here is the spirit for humans to grow together into a single family no matter the color of their skin; ethnic, social, or cultural background; gender; sexual preference; or religious predilection.”

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Jaime R. Carlo-Casellas, Ph.D. and Philip Drucker, Esq., Ret.’s thought-provoking writings will help readers to understand how different races of humans are genetically linked together and why they must band together, rather than let each other get torn apart by bigotry and ignorance.

Readers who wish to experience this enlightening work can purchase “Race Does Not Exist: We all Descend from the Same Maternal Lineage” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.

Bennington, NE Authors Publish Children’s Book

The Adventures of Peanut and Hector: The Two Bears Meet, a new book by Whitney and John Matson, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

In The Adventures of Peanut and Hector, two bears—very different from each other and different from what their parents expected—face a school bully with courage together and wind up life-long friends.

About the Authors
Whitney and John Matson have three amazing kiddos (Brooks, Reagan, and London). They have a nightly tradition of reading books to them, but sometimes, the children playfully demand they tell them stories instead of reading them. The Matsons usually default to “The Adventures of Peanut and Hector”-a duo created by his father during story time when John was a child. “My dad used to tell me and my three sisters stories of these two wild bears roaming the mountains of South Dakota. The bears were always getting into trouble, and having fun…. My dad is a wild storyteller, and listening to him tell these tales when we were kids always made us laugh, and remember how loved we were.” Whitney and John decided one night to create some stories based on these beloved bears and share them with the world. Whitney is a family and consumer science teacher, and a graduate from University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She grew up on a farm outside of a small town in Nebraska. John is a civil litigator with the Firm Koley Jessen in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. The illustrator (Conor Schultze) and John have been close friends since high school. Conor is a talented and devoted artist, athlete, husband, and son.

The Adventures of Peanut and Hector: The Two Bears Meet is a 26-page paperback with a retail price of $18.00 (eBook $13.00). The ISBN is 978-1-6376-4042-5. Chesapeake, VA Authors Publish Religious Non Fiction

Feral Cats Changed Our Lives, a new book by Janet E. Swinehart and David A. Swinehart, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

While writing this book, Janet E. Swinehart looked to God and knows He has given these wonderful creatures, these feral, rescued cats, Summer, Snippy, and Katie, to her and her husband David to love. Janet and David’s story tells about the patience, love, and disappointments that these friends have brought to their lives.

Feral cats are not ordinary cats, and they have a strange nature. On many occasions, Janet found herself praying for herself and her husband, because at times her patience was thin. Summer, Snippy, and Katie are true feral cats, and though Janet was told in books never to try to train them (because it’s almost an impossible mission), she was determined they were going to become cute, cuddly, and friendly babies-but you will soon see that became a significant challenge!

There were some very funny, as well as very scary times, and parts of the story may make you want to cry like she did. Though certain things could have been done differently, experience over time helped Janet and Dave to be more successful in their endeavors.

Walk with them on this journey of raising feral cats, and learn from these episodes. The Swineharts believe that God gave them pets to keep them company and give them a release from the seriousness of day-to-day life. Hopefully, reading this book will inspire you to find a companion of your own to enrich life by caring for a future friend who needs a helping hand.

So, put your kitty boots on, and be on your way!

About the Authors
Janet E. Swinehart and David A. Swinehart were married when she was 15 years old and he was 17, and the duo has now been together for over 48 years. They have faced many trials over the years (Janet was diagnosed with Hodgkins’ Disease when she was 26 years old and given six months to a year to live, yet she just celebrated her sixty-fourth birthday), but their love is strong and enduring. They never stop thanking God for His miracle healing.

Janet has owned Guardian Travel Inc. for 25 years. She loves the travel industry and loves traveling to worldwide destinations as a continual education to be able to pass her knowledge and experiences on to her clients.

Adopting feral cats was the last thing she and David ever expected to be doing at this stage of their lives! It just so happens that Janet fell in love with three beautiful, lost kittens and knew there had to be a way to save them. So, they took the feral challenge and never looked back. That decision has turned out to be a true blessing in their lives in countless ways.
