9 migrant employees eliminated, one hurt in building website mishap at Ennore SEZ thermal power task

9 migrant employees from Assam passed away and a single person was hurt when scaffolding came crashing down at a building website in the Ennore Special Economic Zone thermal power job near Ponneri on Tuesday (September 30, 2025). The group of employees were developing a concrete arch for the 1,320-MW Ennore SEZ thermal power stations when the mishap happened, according to a senior authorities in the Avadi authorities commissioner’s workplace. They were operating at a height of more than 20 feet when the iron scaffolding set up for the building of the arch collapsed.
