Mumbai: The suspended deputy dean of Sion Hospital, Dr Rakesh Verma, together with 3 others, was scheduled on Friday for unfaithful after siphoning Rs 70 lakh from a physician by guaranteeing an MBBS seat for his child.
The Sion cops mentioned that this is the 6th unfaithful case signed up versus Dr Verma.According to cops, Dr Verma assured the plaintiff, Dr Ramachandra Shukla, an MBBS admission for his child under management quota. Dr Shukla stated, “My daughter had obtained 60% in HSC and wanted an MBBS admission in 2020. In Sept 2020, Dr Verma, the then deputy dean of the college, promised admission in Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital”
A law enforcement officer stated the child notified that the implicated stopped working to return the cash after being captured of scamming.
“For four months in 2021, Dr Shukla’s daughter could only hear the audio of the online lectures as the video was turned off. When the complainant called the college, he learned they had not admitted her daughter for the course,” the officer included.
