Declaring its dedication to “Quality in Service – Dignity for Veterans”the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW), Ministry of Defence, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Quality Council of India (QCI) on August 26, to reinforce shipment of pension, health care, resettlement, and well-being services for over 63 lakh veterans and their dependents.
According to a release from the Ministry of Defence, under the MoU, QCI will support DESW in digital examinations, effect evaluations, and evidence-based policy suggestions. In return, DESW will assist in information gain access to and stakeholder coordination with State Governments, zila sainik boards, Armed Forces Headquarters, and empanelled healthcare facilities.
The effort will likewise enhance health care shipment, broaden re-employment and entrepreneurship chances for veterans, and enhance institutional structures of State and District Sainik Boards.
Speaking at the finalizing event, Secretary (DESW), Niten Chandra, stressed the value of digital platforms, AI applications, and social networks in improving outreach and guaranteeing effective service shipment. He highlighted that the cooperation with QCI would assist in system optimisation, strength tracking, and guarantee evidence-based enhancements throughout plans.
The MoU was signed and exchanged by Joint Secretary and OSD, DESW, PP Sharma, and Secretary General, QCI, Chakravarthy Kannan, in the existence of senior authorities from DESW, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Kendriya Sainik Board, Service Headquarters, National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers, and QCI.
