Why This Matters
- India’s urban air quality crisis is real – Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai rank among the world’s most polluted cities.
- Two-wheelers account for over 70% of vehicular pollution in Tier-1 cities.
- Bengaluru alone witnesses 20+ lakh daily delivery trips, with 90% still running on petrol.
- Transitioning just 1 lakh two-wheelers to EVs in top cities can eliminate over 1 crore litres of fuel use annually.
- A full switch to EVs in the delivery segment could cut CO₂ emissions by over 55,000 tonnes annually—the equivalent of planting 25 lakh trees
