CII organizes job fair in Kangra

After the success of job fairs in Solan and Mandi respectively, CII Himachal Pradesh State Council in association with BBNIA is organizing a two-day Job Fair at Government Polytechnic College, Kangra on September 27-28, 2008. This Job Fair is being supported by various government departments including Department of Industries, Labour & Employment, Technical Education, and District Administration of Kangra. This Job Fair will also facilitate achieving the State Government objective of ensuring at least 70% employment to the unemployed Himachali youth in various industrial units. Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh will be inaugurating the fair on Saturday, 27 September. Mr Ramesh Dhawala, Hon’ble Minister of Labour & Employment, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumers will be the Guest of Honour at the inaugural ceremony.
Over 35 Himachal based companies will be participating in the Job Fair and will offer around 2500 jobs in various categories. The two-day Fair is expected to receive the footfall of around 6000 unemployed youth from all parts of the State.
To make the event a big success and in order to facilitate the job seekers it is being organised for two days. On the first day, i.e., Saturday, 27 September, interviews will be held for 5th, 8th, 10th, and 12th pass candidates and on the second day of the fair, i.e., Sunday, 28 September, interviews will be held for ITI/Polytechnic, B. Pharma, B.A., B.Sc, B. Com., B.E., M.Sc.,and M.C.A. Registration is essential for all the appearing candidates and will start at 10:00 a.m. and close by 1:00 p.m. on the both the days. Interviews will be conducted till 5:00 p.m.
“The initiative has been launched with an intent to meet the requirement of employing 70% Himachalis by industries based at Himachal, to encourage the youth to opt for technical and professional education in order to match the employability criteria of the private sector.” said Mr C S Gupta, Chairman, CII Himachal Pradesh State Council. The Job Fair aims at providing a platform for the industry for on-site recruitment of quality workforce as well as to offer avenues to the educated unemployed Himachali youth.
