L-Tron heads to the “National Conference on Active School Threats” promoting school safety

PHOENIXNov. 15, 2022PRLog — The L-Tron team will attend the National Conference on Active School Threats from November 29th to December 1st, 2022 in Phoenix, AZ. Julianne Pangal and John Dobies will represent L-Tron at the conference, introducing OSCR360 for emergency preparedness to attendees.

The conference will take place at the Hilton Phoenix Resort and is geared toward law enforcement, first responders, campus security officers, administrators from schools and universities, emergency management experts, and mental health professionals. According to the conference website, the goal of the event is to enable stakeholders to “develop effective action plans that are unique to their own communities…to make school campuses better prepared for any crisis.”

L-Tron’s OSCR360 is an emergency preparedness tool that comprehensively captures and stores detailed 360-degree images of school campuses, inside and out. Within each image, OSCR’s software organizes critical data, such as entryways, exits and emergency equipment, and clearly presents each visual detail in a walkthrough-style presentation. OSCR presentations are used by first responders and school staff during the creation of emergency response plans, throughout virtual training sessions, and during an active incident response. Some municipalities even have their virtual walkthroughs available in their patrol vehicles for on-demand access. Ultimately, an OSCR360 virtual walkthrough empowers officers with the tactical advantage and facilitates efficient and effective emergency responses. During high stress situations, this can be the difference maker and limit lives put at risk.

In addition to OSCR360’s emergency preparedness features, OSCR360 is used by agencies nationwide to investigate and prosecute major and minor crimes (https://www.L-Tron.com/OSCR360), crashes, fire and environmental-related crimes.

L-Tron heads to Florida for Annual FDIAI Law Enforcement Conference

ORLANDO, Fla.Sept. 27, 2022PRLog — The L-Tron team will be sponsoring and attending this year’s annual FL Division of the IAI Conference in Orlando from October 10-12, 2022. This year’s FDIAI Educational Conference will be held at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. The conference will feature presentations, exhibits, workshops and networking opportunities for crime scene investigators, crime lab personnel and other law enforcement officials.

This conference marks L-Tron’s second time attending the FDIAI Conference with OSCR360, though the company has also supported numerous international and regional IAI conferences over the past years. John Dobies and Julianne Pangal from the L-Tron team will be on-hand to talk to attendees and demo L-Tron’s OSCR360 product. Ret. Investigator John Dobies is slated to present his “HRSI: Hunting-Related Shooting Incident Property Damage Case” lecture. Keynote speaker Lt. Brian Murphy, a Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor Recipient, is scheduled to speak about the tragic events that occurred during the 2012 Sikh Temple massacre and the lessons he learned as the first responding officer to the scene.

The L-Tron booth will feature the company’s OSCR360 system. OSCR captures overall crime scene photos in minutes, which later serve as the backdrop for virtual crime scene walkthroughs, incorporating each piece of digital evidence, GPS data, and key points of interest. With OSCR, investigators, command staff, and those in the courtroom are able to virtually tour the scene, seeing it just as investigators experienced it and leaving no detail to the imagination. Agencies nationwide are using OSCR’s patented technology to organize and present digital evidence and ultimately serve justice. In addition to crime scene investigations, OSCR is instrumental in crash (https://www.l-tron.com/OSCR360-crash-reconstruction), fire (https://www.l-tron.com/oscr360-arson-investigation), and environmental investigations, as well as public safety training courses and incident pre-planning.

Stop by L-Tron’s booth (#19) at the FDIAI Conference to see OSCR for yourself. Consider attending John Dobies’ presentation on Wednesday, October 12th from 9:00 – 9:50 AM in Salon 11 to discover the intricacies of a hunter-related shooting incident and how OSCR was able to assist in organizing case details.

******************************************************************************************

The 2021 Legislative Council (LegCo) General Election will be held this Sunday (December 19). The Secretary for Security, Mr Tang Ping-keung, issued an email today (December 13) to colleagues in the Security Bureau and members of disciplined services departments, appealing them to cast votes on the polling day by exercising their civil rights to elect capable LegCo members. The heads of six disciplined services departments under the Security Bureau (SB) also reminded their colleagues to vote.

“This is the first LegCo election after improving the electoral system and implementing ‘patriots administering Hong Kong’. Members of the public are expecting the new-term of the LegCo to function effectively and serve diligently for the good of the people. Voting is not only a civil right every eligible elector enjoys, but also a responsibility every citizen who loves Hong Kong should shoulder. As public officers, as core members of the Government, we are obliged to take practical action to support this election,” Mr Tang said.

He appealed to colleagues to not only vote, but also encourage their families and friends to support this significant election, using their votes to elect representatives in the LegCo to lay a solid foundation for the implementation of ‘patriots administering Hong Kong’, thereby contributing to the future development of the city.

Since this election is of large scale, Mr Tang emphasised that the SB and its disciplined services departments had geared up to ensure the election could be conducted in a safe and orderly manner without any disturbance.

Hong Kong – Heads of disciplinary forces strongly condemn domestic terrorism behaviour

Heads of disciplinary forces strongly condemn domestic terrorism behaviour

***************************************************************************

The Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Mr Hermes Tang; the Commissioner of Correctional Services, Mr Woo Ying-ming; the Director of Fire Services, Mr Joseph Leung; the Director of Immigration, Mr Au Ka-wang; and the Controller of the Government Flying Service, Captain Wu Wai-hung, issued the following statement today (July 3):

The enactment of the National Security Law last year has halted chaos and restored order in Hong Kong, and the society has gradually stabilised. However, criminals by whatever means keep trying to undermine the overall security of Hong Kong.

We strongly condemn the terrorist attack in which a police officer on duty was attacked with a knife on July 1, and later some people even glorified the act of the attacker as heroism on social media. We fully support the Police’s resolute enforcement actions and would like to thank the police officers for their commitment to duties. We also wish the injured police officer a speedy recovery and extend our regards to his family members.

Online comments glorified the suspect’s cold-blooded act of violence, incited hatred and further advocated terrorist activities. This not only directly encourages more people to replicate the suspect’s brutal and unlawful acts, it also condones the emergence of domestic terrorism and puts Hong Kong’s public safety and order at risks. Such influence can be catastrophic.

The disciplinary forces will stay united to keep up our commitment and fully co-operate with the Police’s enforcement actions.  We will continue to do our utmost in combating domestic terrorism, thereby ensuring the safety of Hong Kong citizens, maintaining the public peace and safeguarding the national security.
