Irv Danesh’s “Doctor Brooklyn: Love & Life at the End of a Knife” is a Medical Fiction Book with a Touch of Humor

Doctor Brooklyn is an enjoyable read. It gives an in-depth description of the life of a hospital resident with all the drama and politics associated with such an endeavor

San Diego, California, USA – WEBWIRE

This fabulous novel is about life, love, and the pursuit of sanity as a new surgical resident navigates his way into an inner-city hospital.

Irv Daneshs Doctor Brooklyn: Love & Life at the End of a Knife was exhibited by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2023 London Book Fair. The book trade fair occurred last April 18-20, 2023, at Olympia London, London, UK.

The author, who also wrote The Loco Life of Doctor Taco, published another humorous medical fiction book, Doctor Brooklyn: Love & Life at the End of a Knife. The book follows the story of a young man named Zach Maxwell. Zach Maxwell just finished his medical education. However, he did not do so well on his board exam.

Zach was a hardworking student. He values patient care and gives extra hours in the hospital wards than the rest of the medical students do. Zach applies only to the top programs in the country because of the good-looking nurses who seem to love surgeons.

The Pope Andreas Yiddish Hospital is the worlds largest charity institution for the delivery of healthcare. Zach thinks that there has to be some mistake, for the hospital is situated in the highest crime section of Brooklyn. It is Zachs last chance for a residency or to do nothing for the whole year. Besides, he needs to pay his debts. Zach got his applications rejected, so he wounds up at a hospital that serves a very dangerous neighborhood and has a history of lousy programs.

Follow Zach Maxwell as he learns and progresses in his career, life, and love in an unusual environment. Order a copy of the book Doctor Brooklyn: Love & Life at the End of a Knife by Irv Danesh on Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Author Bio

Dr. Irv Danesh was born in Brooklyn, New York. Before he started college, he and his family had schlepped to five new homes because of his fathers jobs. This was to be the recurrent theme throughout his life. Like the main character of his first novel Doctor Taco, Irv just didnt concentrate well in college. Women, and the lack of them, had a lot to do with that. After the rejections for admission to medical schools in the States arrived, Irv journeyed south of the border.

Two years of cultural and academic re-education enabled Irv to trek back to the promised land of Brooklyn. More specifically, Irv was nurtured at the worlds largest community hospital, Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. This mega-hospital provided him with enough stab wounds, gunshot wounds, blunt trauma, and general patient stupidity to regale his friends with stories for years to come. After two years of surgical training, he decided he didnt want to spend the rest of his life removing gallbladders or doing bariatric surgery. Being somewhat of an adrenaline junkie, he was in the right place at the right time to snag a residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in the new field of Emergency Medicine. He has practiced in inner-city Emergency Departments for forty years.

Dr. Irvs job statistically has a high rate of burnout. He fought through two of these periods, the first by moving to Boston and serving as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Tufts School of Medicine. He continued his career as Associate Director of Emergency Medicine at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, Massachusetts. It was here that he had his second period of burnout. He again was in the right place at the right time, helping birth USA Networks hit TV show Royal Pains.

Doctor Danesh can now be found happily retired in South Beach where he spends his time with his grammatically correct wife, Fanny and enjoying the sun rising over the ocean in the morning.

Newhall, CA Doctor of Education and Author Publishes Children’s Book

Opposites, a new book by Dr. Anna L. Scott, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Isn’t it exciting to watch a child finally grasp a lesson or idea? Children are visual learners long before words are even spoken. They are aware and familiar of people, surrounding, or sounds. However, as they mature, they associate words with visuals. The word CAT can be identified by a picture. Later, they realize the word CAT may mean a large variety of cats, yet the word CAT still applies.

So, it is with words! A word may have many different meanings, but when the concept of identifying the “opposite” word is introduced, the thinking process changes. The child must think of things occurring in an opposite way. Take the words “hot” and “cold.” A child may identify it by the written or visual; however, parents should always try to extend the thinking process and encourage more than one verbal answer. Ask the child what other things may be hot or cold. Encourage thinking. Opposites takes this concept and educates parents on how to stimulate a child to think different beyond written words and visuals. Later, it will encourage imagination and, perhaps, even the writing of their own books.

Dr. McCollum requested to go to Russia, unfortunately all positions were all fill out and was offered to teach in Romania instead then soon scheduled to teach classes at the Academy Study for Economy (ASE). After a long flight, on Sept. 23, 1991, they had their first Fulbright orientation at the Embassy in Bucharest.

“It has been a life changer, and I wanted to go back,” as Dr. McCollum recalls. “I felt that I had a mission to help the Romanians. He had taught three university classes and 40 seminars ranging from two hours to five days with more than 1,000 students. Barbara had tutored English to numerous Romanians. Also consulted with several Romanian companies and had written business plans for some of them.

The Holistic Marketing Management Journal of the Romanian-American University recently awarded the prestigious HMM Diploma of Special Merit to “Dr. James K. McCollum, Professor Emeritus, University of Alabama in Huntsville, U.S.A., for outstanding contributions in the field of Business and Talent Management on the occasion of RAU’s 30th anniversary.” Today, Dr. McCollum is recognized as one of RAU’s most beloved Visiting Professors.

Read the book to follow Dr. McCollum’s journey as they experience significant events that became history in various countries in Europe and some parts in the Middle East. Travel back in time and witness their achievements as it shows the Author/Professor’s efforts, dedication and the know-how to make work a pleasure and enjoy life as well as balancing quality family time. Doctor Combats COVID-19 Pandemic Misinformation, Offering Reassurance and Life-Saving Strategies

It’s year two of COVID-19 and in many ways the stress and uncertainty have never gone away. Today COVID cases are climbing yet again in vulnerable, unvaccinated areas across the US. As fall and winter approaches, and we go indoors, states are bracing for a new surge of cases. People in the U.S. still stress about the virus, a situation only made worse by countless social media conspiracy theories, pseudo-science and exaggerated news headlines.

Witnessing the anxiety and confusion COVID-19 caused his own patients, Dominic Gaziano M.D. set out to create a definitive guide for anyone feeling overwhelmed and under-informed. “A Doctor’s Guide from Pandemic to New Normal: COVID Prevention, Vaccines, and Stress Relief” is the result of those efforts. In it, he covers the reasons why the COVID-19 vaccination is beneficial, how to handle COVID stress, how herd immunity works and the practical ways we can all learn to embrace a COVID-prevention lifestyle.

A Kindle edition of “A Doctor’s Guide from Pandemic to New Normal” was released on July 5, 2021, and is available on Amazon, distributed by Bublish, Inc. A print version of the book will be available by the end of July, 2021.
