The Empowered Committee on Infrastructure for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects, chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, has granted in-principle approval to five new PPP projects valued at a total of Rs 1,130 crore. These projects span critical sectors including health, sewerage treatment, urban development, water supply, and animal vaccine production.
An official release stated that the committee also reviewed the ongoing pipeline of PPP projects and directed the relevant departments and project sponsoring authorities to adhere to strict timelines and ensure due diligence at every stage of project execution.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Anu Garg highlighted that PPP projects would be pivotal in achieving the state’s targets for attracting private investment under Odisha’s “Vision 2036” roadmap, while also promoting sustainable development.
The committee additionally granted in-principle approval for a collaboration between the PPP Cell of the Finance Department and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). This partnership aims to help build a pipeline of viable projects and strengthen a PPP-friendly ecosystem in Odisha.
