The District Industries Centre (DIC), Tiruppur, has scheduled a workshop on August 29 at the Collectorate to create awareness among MSMEs on the benefits of Rooftop Solar Demand Aggregation.

Industries located in the same cluster will be enabled to procure rooftop solar systems together through the initiative. The workshop will be conducted free of cost to MSME participants, a press release issued by the Tiruppur administration said.

The DIC, along with Council of State Industrial Development and Investment Corporations of India (COSIDICI) and NITI Ayog are organising the workshop, and the technical sessions will be handled by experts drawn from Auroville Consulting and UDM Strategic Advisors LLP, from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., the press release said.

The initiative will pave way for industries to reduce their electricity costs significantly, access affordable finance, and receive expert guidance on site assessments, system sizing, and vendor selection.

Participation in the workshop will provide Micro and Small Enterprises with the opportunity to reduce their monthly electricity bills through solar adoption, avail bulk procurement benefits, and ensure transparent vendor selection.

The MSME cluster units will also receive custom technical and financial guidance from renewable energy experts and be part of Tamil Nadu’s clean energy transition., the press release said.
