J-K CM reveals instant ex-gratia assistance to Kathua cloudburst victims

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday revealed ex-gratia support to the households of the deceased from the CM’s relief fund, in addition to SDRF assistance.

In a post shared on X by the Office of Chief Minister, Abdullah stated the help is targeted at supplying instant relief and supporting the afflicted households in restoring their lives.

7 members of 4 households, consisting of 5 kids, were eliminated and 6 others hurt in 2 different occurrences of cloudburst and landslide in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir early Sunday.

“The chief minister, expressing deep concern for the lives and property affected by the recent cloudburst in Kathua, has announced ex-gratia assistance from the CM’s Relief Fund, in addition to SDRF support,” the post read.

It stated Rs 2 lakh would be offered to each deceased, Rs 1 lakh for those significantly hurt, and Rs 50,000 for small injuries.

The primary minister likewise approved Rs 1 lakh for totally harmed homes, Rs 50,000 for significantly harmed homes and Rs 25,000 for partly harmed homes.
