A shocking case of an alleged gang-rape attempt on a minor girl has been reported from Udala in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. The incident took place on the day of Raksha Bandhan when three young men allegedly tried to attack the girl in a forest after finding her alone.
Police have arrested all three accused and detained two minor boys for their suspected involvement.

According to the complaint lodged at Udala police station, the minor girl had gone out with two of her male friends, both minors. While they were near a forested area, one of the boys went to relieve himself. At that moment, the accused trio appeared and sent the other boy to call him back, effectively leaving the girl alone. Seizing the opportunity, the three men allegedly tried to gang-rape her inside the jungle.

Displaying remarkable courage, the girl struck one of the attackers, kicked them and managed to break free. She ran home and narrated the ordeal to her family members. Without delay, the family approached the Udala police station and lodged a written complaint.
