What to Expect in Season 2
According to co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday returns to Nevermore thinking she understands the place inside out, but reality proves otherwise.
“She thinks she’s going to be in control… but she doesn’t. Nothing is what it seems in Season 2,” they told Tudum. Expect shifting alliances, new secrets, and the return of old adversaries.
Release Format & First Four Episodes
Season 2 will release in two parts:
Part 1: August 6 (Episodes 1–4)
Part 2: September 3 (Episodes 5–8)
The first four episodes are titled:
1. Here We Woe Again
2. The Devil You Woe
3. Call of the Woe
4. If These Woes Could Talk
Tim Burton directs Episodes 1 and 4, while Paco Cabezas helms Episodes 2 and 3.
Lady Gaga Joins the Cast
Notably, Lady Gaga’s appearance in Wednesday Season 2 has been confirmed. Though absent from the show’s promotional events so far, the Grammy- and Oscar-winning artist confirmed her role during a performance at Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event in May. She will debut in Part 2 as Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary and enigmatic Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.

Xavier’s Absence in Season 2
One notable omission this season is Xavier Thorpe, played by Percy Hynes White in Season 1. Xavier was central to the first season’s plot, from being suspected of the Hyde murders to later aiding Wednesday in her investigations. His storyline ended with him giving her a phone that became a key plot device.
However, Hynes White is not returning. In January 2023, after Wednesday’s breakout success, allegations of sexual assault surfaced online. The actor denied these claims in June 2023 via Instagram, calling them ‘false’ and ‘a campaign of misinformation.’ Regardless, his character will not appear in Season 2.
