ROCKLEDGE, FL, May 10, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — Phyllis Shipley has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having come of age among a family of musicians, Ms. Shipley has long been interested in the arts, but never acted on her dreams until her own son persuaded her to take classes alongside him. At the time, however, she was working, playing the organ for her church and raising two children, so she could not dedicate much time to her art. However, Ms. Shipley became acquainted with a soloist at her church, who also served as an art teacher. She was an inspiration for Phyllis to proceed in developing her art skills of expression as she did in her music.

Thus inspired, Ms. Shipley opened Phyllis Shipley Fine Art Gallery in 1992, through which she fielded a number of art shows. In this capacity, she managed all aspects of the business for seven years, during which time her work took her all around the world to Mexico and France, where she hosted artist retreats and workshops. Following the passing of her husband, however, she moved to Florida, where she experienced a new artistic awakening. Presently, Ms. Shipley serves as the owner of Phyllis Shipley Fine Art, and works as an artist at the Amsterdam Whitney International Fine Art Gallery in New York, Saphira and Ventura International Contemporary Art Gallery in New York, Artblend Gallery in Pompano Beach, Florida, and additional galleries in Florida and the US.

In honor of her accomplishments, Ms. Shipley has received countless awards and exhibited at several museum and gallery solo shows. In addition to winning several French awards, she was bestowed with the Best of the Show during an exhibition held in St. Simons Island, Georgia. Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Shipley was most proud to have been able to touch people through her work – in particular, she prides herself in the reaction that many of her works elicit in onlookers, and strives to emit a story with each piece, using the criteria of the three “S’s”: sense, suggestion and symbols.

Most recently, Ms. Shipley has had four showings in New York City and will be exhibiting again in June 2021. Furthermore, she will soon be featured in “On the Road to Inner Vision,” a forthcoming book by Gilbert S. Melanson. She maintains her professional affiliation with the Brevard Cultural Alliance, the Vero Beach Art Association and Brevard Watercolor Society. Ms. Shipley has attributed her professional success to her drive and the contributions of her partners. She lives by her motto “Life is not a problem to be solved, but a gift to be enjoyed”.
