SMCC, in partnership with Boston Reed College, will offer courses to train individuals to become Clinical Medical Assistants. Both day and evening courses are available.
Interested students are encouraged to attend a free orientation this month, to learn about the requirements and tasks necessary to qualify for this type of position.
Clinical Medical Assistants help physicians carry out procedures, care for patients, perform basic lab tests and administer medications.
The program also includes unpaid externships ( on-the-job training ) of 120 to 160 hours in the Phoenix area.
WHEN:
Students should attend a free orientation session on Wednesday, September 22 at 6 p.m.
Classes start September 28, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Daytime sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while evening sessions run from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
WHERE:
The orientation takes place at the SMCC Student Union, 7050 S. 24th Street in Phoenix ( just north of Baseline Road. )
Classes will be held at the SMCC Ahwatukee Foothills Center, 10429 S. 51st Street ( just off the I-10/Elliot Road exit. )
FEE:
The cost of the training is $2,595, including books and supplies, and financial aid is available.
The orientation session is presented free of charge, with no obligation.
