Hurricane Electric Expands Network Connectivity at The Pittock Internet Exchange

Hurricane Electric, the worlds largest IPv6-native Internet backbone
and a leading colocation provider, today announced that it has
established a point-of-presence (PoP) within the The
Pittock Internet Exchange.
“Over
the next couple of months, Hurricane Electric will continue to establish
PoPs throughout Asia, Europe and the United States.”
Hurricane Electrics new point-of-presence will give users of Pittocks
facility the ability to access directly Hurricane Electrics unsurpassed
connectivity solutions to meet the most demanding of transit needs,
said Martin Levy, Hurricane Electrics Director of IPv6 Strategy. Over
the next couple of months, Hurricane Electric will continue to establish
PoPs throughout Asia, Europe and the United States.
In addition to access to Hurricanes Electrics vast network, Hurricane
offers enterprises free
IPv6 certification and tunnel
broker service.
Hurricane Electric first deployed IPv6 on its global backbone in 2001.
Hurricane Electrics global Internet backbone is one of the few that is
IPv6-native and does not rely on internal tunnels for its IPv6
connectivity. IPv6 is offered as a core service and every customer is
provided IPv6 connectivity, as well as classic IPv4 connectivity.
Hurricane Electric connects to more than 900 associated IPv6 backbones.
Hurricane Electric offers IPv4 and IPv6 transit solutions over the same
connection, at speeds up to 10 Gbps or more. With its own global
network, the company has 45 major exchange points with connectivity to
more than 1,500 different networks. Employing resilient fiber topology,
Hurricane Electric has at least four redundant paths crossing North
America, two separate paths between the U.S. and Europe, and rings in
Europe and Asia.
