Secchia Center named top new building in Grand Rapids
The Downtown Awards is a biennial program developed to recognize exceptional accomplishments in the ongoing investment in downtown Grand Rapids.
“We want to focus attention on the growth and investment that continues to occur in the central business district,” said Ray Kisor, Chairman of the Downtown Awards Committee. “Individuals and businesses are making a choice to invest in downtown Grand Rapids, and we believe that their confidence and their accomplishments need to be recognized.”
The College of Human Medicine opened the Secchia Center in 2010, completing one of the largest medical school expansions in the country. The building last year earned gold certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
