Correctional officers stop remand person in custody from attacking staff member *******************************************************************************      ​Correctional officers at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre stopped a male remand person in custody from attacking a staff member today (May 10).             At 5.28am today, a 67-year-old male remand person in custody suddenly became emotional and attacked a correctional officer inside a dormitory. Correctional officer stops assault on detainee **********************************************      A correctional officer stopped a detainee assaulting another detainee at Nei Kwu Correctional Institution today (April 3).      At 1.42pm today, a 47-year-old female detainee attacked a 33-year-old female detainee with a plastic stool inside a dayroom. The officer at the scene immediately stopped the assailant and called for reinforcement.      During the incident, the victim sustained injury to her head. After examination and treatment by the institution Medical Officer, she was referred to a public hospital for further treatment. Correctional officers stop person in custody attempting escape **************************************************************      ​Correctional officers stopped a male person in custody attempting escape at Tai Lam Correctional Institution today (March 17).      At 1.13pm today, a 29-year-old male person in custody suddenly climbed up a fence while taking a rest at an outdoor activities area and attempted to escape. Officers at the scene immediately stopped him and called for reinforcement. Correctional Services Department combats illicit activities of persons in custody *********************************************************************************      ​The Correctional Services Department (CSD) today (February 15) launched an operation at Tai Lam Correctional Institution to combat illicit activities.      The management of Tai Lam Correctional Institution stepped up measures to combat illicit food transaction activities among persons in custody during Lunar New Year and continued to closely monitor relevant target persons in custody.      At 8.24am today, two persons in custody were found involved in illicit food transaction activities in the dining hall of the institution. Correctional officers intercept smuggling of suspected dangerous drug into Tai Lam Centre for Women ******************************************************************************************      Correctional officers at Tai Lam Centre for Women today (November 30) intercepted a female remand person in custody smuggling a suspected dangerous drug into the centre by concealing it inside her body.      The 45-year-old person in custody was remanded for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug on November 28. After undergoing X-ray body scanning, she was suspected to have swallowed the dangerous drug before admission.
