Madurai: CB-CID on Thursday arrested suspended sub-registrar Justin Manikandan Subramanian, in connection with the fraudulent registration of the Rs100 crore 1.4 acre land belonging to the Arulmigu Dhandapani Swamigal madam in Palani, Dindigul district.
The arrest comes a day after the Madras high court dismissed his anticipatory bail plea.Subramanian was arrested from a house in Kodaikanal, where he was hiding. CB-CID officials also conducted searches at the house of another accused, Jeyaprakash, in Oddanchatram and conducted an inquiry with his family members. CB-CID is on the lookout for Jeyaprakash.On Wednesday, the court said that granting anticipatory bail to Subramanian and Jeyaprakash would hamper the investigation. Hence, the court cancelled the interim anticipatory bail earlier granted to Subramanian and dismissed both the petitions.
