Actress Disha Patani is all set to expand her career beyond Indian cinema as she gears up for her Hollywood debut with The Portal of Force. The film serves as the opening chapter of the supernatural action-thriller franchise Statiguards vs Holiguards Saga.

Disha will reportedly headline the film as Jessica, a character that reportedly offers the actor a massive creative canvas and an opportunity to challenge herself in an entirely new cinematic space.

“Thrilling and terrifying”: Disha Opens Up About Her First International Project

The actress revealed that waiting for the trailer launch was an emotional experience, describing the journey as both “thrilling and terrifying.” She also shared that working on her maiden international venture helped her understand the nuances of acting on a much deeper level while exposing her to varied perspectives from a multicultural cast.

Speaking about the experience, the 33-year-old actor said, “I’ve waited with bated breath for the trailer of this very special project. Stepping into my first international outing was both thrilling and terrifying – but the scope to explore the craft was massive. Working with an experienced, diverse cast was an education in itself.”

Disha further reflected on how meaningful it felt to take the experience she gained in Indian cinema to a global audience. The actor noted that she has always enjoyed the action genre and believes storytelling has the power to transcend barriers of language and geography.

She added, “You realise that storytelling transcends language and geography – honesty on screen is universal. I’ve always loved action, and to bring what I’ve learned on the home turf to a global platform feels incredibly empowering.”

The action-packed thriller also marks the directorial comeback of Kevin Spacey after nearly two decades. Set in a fantasy universe, the film revolves around a secret war between two ancient factions fighting to dominate Earth’s future.

The trailer, unveiled on May 7, introduces audiences to Jessica — Disha’s character — who emerges as both the emotional anchor and driving force of the story.

Known as the “Chosen One,” Jessica is portrayed as the daughter of leaders belonging to opposing sides of the conflict. Her existence makes her the bridge between two hostile worlds and the deciding factor in the battle that could determine humanity’s fate.
